Or the newest P5 conference at the time which would be made up surviving members of the old Big 12...BYU...and the strongest programs from the old AAC. WVU is in the seven team East made up of WVU...Cincinnati...CFU...Memphis...Iowa State...USF...Houston. Three crossover games a year from the West made up of Baylor...TCU...Texas Tech...Kansas...Kansas St...BYU...and Colorado State.

The model BIG12 deploys is one of the more profitable for Universities, I dont think programs are dying to leave it or form a new structure. WVU is far better in the BIG12 then in the ACC. More Profitable and its uniqueness offers a sales pitch for the staff when recruiting, it def gives us an edge when recruiting the East Coast... Id rather have a unique marketable factor then just be one of the many in a conference that exudes mediocrity.

If anything, I hope the BIG12 expands... Adding 2 or 4 teams. If it only adds 2 it could still keep its round robin, however I think they shoot for 4 so they can break it up into 2 divisions.

Nebraska
Colorado
Arizona or Arizona St
Houston
Boise St

Perhaps Iowa, Arkansas, Utah or ND

I would think these may be the programs that may be interested. Nebraska & Iowa def did not seem very happy with the BIG10's management or policies the past year, and stood apart from all other BIG10 programs..

In some ways, in many ways, I think whoever may show an interest in joining the BIG12, part of that justification may be......... political. Obviously the $$$ & other benefits have to be right, but when analyzing programs that are more closely aligned, Im looking for programs that may not share their conference's perspectives.

The BIG12 & SEC are the more "conservative" conferences, while ACC BIG10 & PAC12 are def more liberal... While all colleges are more liberal these days, there are some "fish out of water" scenarios...

Hypothetically, lets say:

Nebraska, Utah, Arkansas, & Arizona Join:

How best to divide the conference into two divisions?? Out of those 14 teams, You would play 6 division games, 3 cross division games & 3 Out of Conference.

Should the NCAA select a 12 team playoff, I really hope they require ALL programs to play at least 10 P5 opponents. This would increase cross conference games, making the rankings more accurate, more profitable, and more entertaining for NCAAF fans...

WVU and all the existing B12 teams will be in the BIG 12.

If anything changes the conference will expand moving into their next set of contracts to provide more inventory for media partners and to take advantage of conferences earning less than they do like the PAC and acc.

If the blue bloods break off to create their semi-pro, pay the players NFL feeder league then this very well could be the future. A school like WVU does not and will not be able to out bid the Alabama’s, Ohio States, LSUs, Georgia’s and Texas’ for players to come and play and hand out bonuses for performance.

IF gambling doesn’t put an end to college athletics before that.

i suggest that Mizzo and Nebraska are the teams the Big 12 should go after hot and heavy. The Big 12 is their nature home. After that I'd see BYU and Houston. However, believe Big 12 schools would oppose Houston because the move would increase recruiting competition.

My scenario was...if you read it...that Texas...Oklahoma...and Oklahoma State move on. Others will want Houston then...because the Big 12...reread again...wouldn't exist.

IF YOU'RE WISE, LISTEN TO THIS POST. AT LEAST THE BIG 12 PART. WVU WOULD BE A FOOL TO LEAVE IT. FINANCIALLY, STABILITY, ETC. TRAVEL IS A PROBLEM FOR FANS BUT NOT THE PLAYERS. THEY GET ON A PLANE, PUT THEIR HEADPHONES ON AND SNOOZE STILL THEY LAND, WHETHER IT'S BLACKSBURG OR NORMAN. FANS, HOWEVER, FIND 800 TO 1,300 MILES A DIFFICULT ROAD TRIP TO HANDLE BY AUTO, AND EXPENSIVE BY PLANE.

I know that comprehension is your weak suit but read my post again. Don't see wvu leaving fake 12 conference but do see okla..okie State...and Texas as possibly moving on when current tv deal is done leaving the rest of the schools to cobble together a new P5 conference with equivalent number of teams. So now that I have explained you can pretend to understand. Squirrel.

That may be true about the football team playing afternoon games, but night games and week day road games for basketball when they get back on campus at 1 - 3 AM certainly is a problem.

GOOD POINT. I WAS THINKING ONLY ABOUT THE TRIP TO THE GAMES FOR PLAYERS COMPARED TO FANS. AS ALWAYS, SOMEONE ELSE THINKS OF SOMETHING I DIDN'T. BUT THERE'S NO DEBATE ABOUT THE MONEY FOR WVU BEING WAY, WAY BETTER IN THE BIG 12 THAN ANYWHERE ELSE IN ITS HISTORY, EVEN IF YOU FACTOR IN INCREASES IN COST OF LIVING OVER THE DECADES.

WTF does this have to do with the topic of my tread? Insufferable.
