Well nobody answered the question so I will.

I don't like it. Hope Brown enjoys his next job.
thank you for an actual answer. i agree with you. Doege is an enigma. leads the conference in passing but makes so many weird decisions that it detracts from anything he does accomplish. my bet us NB tries to talk him out of coming back...at least to wvu. also his return makes the already shaky Nicco situation worse.

Doege saying he is coming back next year?
I was surprised to heart and more surprised by his reasoning.

He leads the B12 in passing? Ok. You also throw it twice as much as anyone else. Does he really think he's that good? Nice to have a confidence, I guess.

Every coach talks platitudes about an opponent to the media. I'd like to be a fly on the wall of OU, OkSt, and Baylor's coach's room as they discuss WVU's offense. Who do they gameplan for? What player are they talking about when they tell their D "Don't you dare let fvcking X have the game of his life"?

I care not who joins the race to become the major QB. Put ALL of them through the same paces and choose, without bias, the one who has the BEST ability to lead the team by providing the characteristics necessary of a successful QB. Choose a second one as backup and work both as if each were the ‘alpha’. Allow the others opportunities to unseat the #2 and continually evaluate when/if the rank order of the QBs should be shuffled. The key is do it all with an open mind. Must consider the positives noted for each but cannot ignore the present as well as historical negatives of those who have been observed previously.
Doege and Greene have vividly displayed glowing deficiencies that cannot be glossed over. Others under consideration must overcome the inexperience they have. Which weighs more heavily—lack of experiencd under College game conditions or performance/skill deficiencies that have been evident previously?

QB Coach Sean Reagan said last fall that Crowder is the most talented QB he's ever coached. He praised his accuracy, and mobility among other things. Pretty high praise since Reagan coached 3 record setting QBs at Troy.

As I've said before, several redshirt freshmen have taken over some pretty good teams and did quite well. Pat White, Jameis Winston, and Geno Smith come to mind. Smith appeared in 5 games as a true freshman and did not redshirt. His sophomore year as a starter he did OK though: He completed 241 of 372 passes for 2,763 yds with 24 TDs against 7 interceptions.

The cupboard is not bare. Goose was better as a high school senior than either Doege or Greene have been this year. And that Nicco kid will probably be here. Doege is going to have real competition if he stays hoping to start again. If he improves that much on consistency, reading the field and quickness of release in the off season then good for him. And us too.

I don't care about the name on the back of the jersey. I just want someone with talent like White, Smith, or Grier wearing it. It can be done.
