1. Im glad someone has clearly pointed out that there was no loophole in the rules. People keep saying that and its not true. The loophole, as this guy points out, was created by the ruling/interpretation itself. I don't care either way, it just kept frustrating me.

2. I think KY's argument is really distinguishable. Auburn argued that newton didn't know about the facts underlying the violation. I think KY is trying to argue that Kanter didn't know what he did was a violation. That's pretty critical.

but it is funny they are doing this.

Slive and the NCAA created the loophole *in their own ruling* that they're now claiming needs to be closed. How two-faced can you get?
Of course, the loophole exists in the NCAA’s ruling,
not in the NCAA’s rulebook. The rulebook states that individuals or
entities are not allowed to represent a prospective student-athlete for
compensation to a school for an athletic scholarship. The NCAA’s and
SEC’s interpretation of their ruling included the part about “the young person’s responsibility.”

Couldn't we use the same argument that UK is using for RS? Do you honestly think HE knew what was happening was against NCAA laws?

Better to lie and say you didn't know. See Cam. Saying you don't understand is instant grounds for ineligibility, however.
