So the SEC is bearing its teeth so far at 5-1

With Auburn, Mizzou, Vandy, and Bama left to go.

I'm thinking that we win at least two of those, 7- 3 would be a very good year.

I've seen quite a bit of testiness from other teams, especially Big10 teams. They don't like it.

Just a few observations,

All I know is I am comfortable with the SEC Nat'l Title run ending...

To hell with Auburn. May Florida State rip them apart. Aside from that, glad to see the Conference coming out on top.

But all of the games have been pretty competitive, except ours of course.

Also love seeing the B1G lose, but I do like this Michigan State team.

I think you're right. Bama should win pretty easily, Vandy a slight favorite, Mizzou a tossup, and Auburn a slight underdog. Also, in almost every bowl the SEC is playing a team that finished higher in its conference than the SEC team did. Big 10 is a pretty decent major conference, but not nearly as good as the SEC/PAC-12/Big 12 overall. If they don't like it, they just need to get better. But population demographics are working against them. When Notre Dame went to the ACC, they were thinking long-term.

For some strange reason, I've always wanted to play a mid level Big Ten team on a home and away basis...Purdue comes to mind...there may be others..Indiana maybe

No tie-ins for the SEC are apples to apples right now. Nor will they likely be in the future. It's always a #5 SEC vs a #3 ACC/B1G or something like that.

If the SEC "encourages" every school to play at least 1 major conference opponent each year, we should definitely be looking at the mid to lower Big 10 and ACC teams.

Actually, that IS apples to apples. 5 in the SEC is at least equivalent to 3 in the ACC and B1G. That's why it's set up that way.

1-1. I'm not even convinced that they would be willing to do a straight up home and home with us if we for some reason totally lost our minds and decided we wanted that.

I don't care anything about home and homes with meandering B1G schools. Play them in bowls. Is everyone in favor of that willing to give up a 7th home game in the 3rd year in order to say they visited Purdue? It doesn't make much fiscal sense for MSU at this point to start scheduling a home and home in the place of what is currently a 2-for-1.
