Laughing at anyone who thought Prop 50 wasn’t going to pass. Still laughing at some on here who think that CA is going to turn red. Not gonna happen.

What will be more interesting is the upcoming pissing contest between Gavin & Kamala. I thought Kamala was going to make a run at Governor, especially after Kounalakis (Lt. Governor) bowed out earlier this year. Doesn’t look like it. One of the two have to bow out. I can’t see an all California Dem ticket in 2028.

Thoughts?

Well, Virginia is more purple than blue, IMHO.

OTOH, many people call North Carolina purple, but it still seems more red than purple to me.
Virginia elected a republican governor last election ..of the last 6 governors, 4 were democrats.. They have a democrat house and senate.

For the most part it's a democrat state and has been for a while

I gotta ask. Just what do you think they deserve?
Taxed into oblivion. Rampant corruption. Zero accountability of leaders. Repeat offenders on the streets. Needles and feces covered sidewalks. Here’s what I’d tell them - look at Chicago, Oakland, San Francisco, Portland - does that look like a wholesome place to live? That’s what you just voted for. A classic fafo. Enjoy. I know I will enjoy watching it lol.

Bro NC is probably the most liberal state in the south. It’s ridiculous. They’re finding out real quick that it doesn’t work either. They’ve had a rash of released violent criminals in NC and specifically CLT attacking and even killing people recently. Asheville and surrounding areas are full of leftists as well.

Of these victories the left is excited about. How many of them came in states that do not require ID to vote? Seems like a fundamental problem here. We know CA and NY do not allow poll workers to even ask for ID so what are we even talking about. These numbers are literally just made up in places you already control imo. Do the numbers even matter if they’re not real, if people that aren’t supposed to vote are voting? The left shut down the government for 36 days, left 43 million people hungry so they could attempt to galvanize and excite their voters. Shameful and misleading. Liberal state leaders circumvent their constituents by having “American idol” voting style rules. You can vote up to 15 times for your favorite lol.

Why are you unconfident Ned?
You didn't get the message? America loudly said FDT last night, which leads credence to all the polls that show his approval in the gutter. Keep being cocky but remember that a fvkk sh*t up and own the libs agenda isn't popular outside of you 37 percenters.

I see we have some engagement from the resident leftist. Great. Here’s some more info to share.

The following states “affirm you identify” by having you sign a piece of paper. CA, D.C., HI, IL, ME, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NM, NY, OR, PA, VT. No ID, no piece of mail, no credit card, just write an x on the paper and you can vote. It’s comical to watch the leftist crowing about their “win”. Anyone can win when they cheat and lie and deceive.

• Of the 15 Democratic trifectas, 11 have no ID requirement at polls.

• Of the 23 Republican trifectas, 20 require photo ID.

Recent trends show Republican-led states passing stricter laws (e.g., 10 states amended voter ID rules in 2025, mostly tightening them), while Democratic-led ones focus on expansions like automatic registration.

Let them crow. They think they won something. They can’t even realize they just win the same places over and over because they’ve rigged the laws. When liberals start winning elections in states with normal voter laws I’ll be concerned. Until then, let them think what they want.

I think the Mamdani race sort of mirrors the trump-harris election. People don't want either, but they know Cuomo and don't want that again. Mamdani has great promises for those at the lower end of the economic spectrum at the expense of those at the higher end. A vote for Cuomo maintains the status quo of NY politics, Mamdani offers hope (to some). I'm not sure republicans will weep and gnash If Mamdani wins. A lot of those I talk to, obviously an older segment of the population, are interested in the results of the Mamdani policies. I have children and grandchildren and the parents would love to have free childcare and lower grocery prices. But they are leery of where the money comes from to pay for it. It sounds good to "tax the rich", but as you know there are plenty of ways to shelter income - something as simple as a deferred compensation plan - and you can bet that the high earners will make use of those shelters.

VA, NJ and California are democrat states, so any republican wins would be upsets, IMO

Personally, I'm interested to see the results of a Mamdani win. Things never work out exactly as planned and mamdani's plans will hit some walls and the people at the bottom will want results. I have seen some socialist type plans - our own social security - and somehow the promises don't seem to match the reality. But, this time will be different:)

To add what you wrote with 20/20 hindsight

The elections went exactly as expected

The part I am interested in is now Mamdani has the reins to the city I am going to enjoy his MIRACLES he will work to take money from 50% of the population to enrich the lesser successful 50%

I am expecting a massive voting with the feet as successful people flee from the new governance in the coming months if it is enacted

Hey so, everyone hates Trump. They hate MAGA. There is no Trump train. The United States, including its biggest and most important city, have completely rejected your "conservative christian ideology" as you call it, which is actually just facism.

Enjoy the next few years before MAGA and their ideology fades into oblivion

Mamdani focused on affordability and won because of it. Most people don’t care about more abstract politics.

The lesson for Republicans is that you’re going to have a problem with Trump promising to make things cheaper only for them to get more expensive.

It looks like Dems won virtually every election across the country last night, in even more resounding fashion than they did in 2017. If 2026 plays out like 2018, Trump can expect a third impeachment.
