$130k base, plus 25% bonus, plus 20% stocks...about $188k all in. Wife makes six figures too, so can’t complain. However, my current role is a bit of a step back from my previous role. My position was eliminated there, and I got a year’s severance...bought a house with that I couldn’t have otherwise afforded. Worked hard to get here, but still think there’s upside...of course, the higher you get in an organization, the more risk there is. You’re only as good as your current boss says you are. The insecure boss who got rid of me at the last job just got fired...can’t cash a check on that, but it gives me some level of satisfaction

Teachers are compensated plenty fair against the days worked annually and the responsibilities of the job. The underfunded pension was/is unsustainable and that should be your problem and not mine.

No that is the states problem, not the teachers. Only a small minded pest would pick on teachers, the majority of which do amazing work for the youth of the state. Bevin is an idiot...

Disclaimer- I'm not a teacher, but I 100% support them and everyone should.

dollar figure! funny how so many people here are either embarrassed or shamed to admit how much they make......ridiculous. As I said, I make $50,000.00 per year

I’m in the real estate industry and never guaranteed a dime but my average for the last two years is roughly $155,000/year.

Dang, a GS 5 or 7?
Over 7 probably or stepped out 7. I make around $47K factoring in locality and such as a 7. Factor in my military retirement and it is around $65K. With wife's job, we bring in around $105k before taxes.

I support good ones but not being able to quickly fix problem teachers is the main issue....brazen disrespect is rampant by a bunch...

Not enough
Will it ever be? LOL!

True story, in 2005 when I was 25 married with a baby boy and lving in our first home my wife and I combined to make $60,000 per year. I thought at $100,000 combined we would be able to whatever we wanted based on our budget at that time. We have far surpassed that target income, but I still want more. Of course that baby boy is 13 and has an appetite for Air Jordan's and we have added a 9 year old daughter who loves Justice outfits, 2 dogs, and we live in a house that is twice as large. Comes down to want vs need. We have been beyond blessed so I really try to focus on how much we have, but of course I am a human and have an eye on shiny new golf clubs, a new truck, new clothes, etc.

Shoot Awf, I don't have to either but I like a Burger King Whopper meal for two coupon $8.99 Good stuff... Like Popeye's too but they are getting pricey (Not too many coupons but they do have specials some times.). (We always peel off the skin. Too much yucky stuff in that good tasting skin.)

I said I didn't "have'' to look........I am a cheap miser when it comes to my money.........took the wife out for her birthday and it is the first time we had been out to eat since our anniversary last year.....most of the time we actually prefer to eat in......I am a very good hand in the kitchen......with the hepatitis outbreak in Louisville it really isn't a good idea to go to restaurants...I guess it times get hard I can burn our furniture and cook pizza in my outdoor pizza oven....

Yeah, my wife is a tremendous cook. I could make this board drool posting pictures of what I eat on a near daily basis. (I eat food fit for a king most days. I am not exaggerating.) I take the wife out a lot just to give her a break. I am blessed beyond measure and definitely the black sheep in my family.

I make a good chili, beef stew, and good oatmeal cookies.

I am a heckuv a dishwasher as that is my part.

Thanks do you know what part of SC?

LinkedIn says he’s in Ft. Mill. I don’t really know him...friend of friends...but we grew up in the same place and I remember seeing on LinkedIn that he was selling real estate in South Carolina now.

Thanks, I was thinking of buying from the listing agent or a for sale by owner. I like cutting costs when buying a home and that is about the only way to do it. If he has some listings I'd be interested but don't put your self out. (I still have my SC phone number.) We liked it there.

Nice area. He seems to be hustling...let me know how it turns out.

I am going to look him up now. We kind of want to buy this time of year to where we can catch any break possible on price. I will. Thanks again.

I retired but the Director wants to work......to each their own.....I guess being a resperitory therapist isn't as hard on your body as construction does.....I was tired and ready and she isn't......I took over "all" domestic duties when I retired.....my running joke with her is the only damn thing she has to do is bring me her pay check....I take it from there.....I manage the finances, keep the house clean, take care of the property I can rustle up grub or I can set a table for fine dinning.....over two seasons I put up a little over 1100 quarts of veggies out of my garden........I get to play music to my hearts content....life is good......grandpa said not to worry about how much you make......worry about how to live on less than that figure.....maybe I can get your wife to go to the cooking page on FB....she can share her recipes..............

It showed he was with Keller Williams but I did a search on their site which was having issues and it didn't come up with a result. I will check again another way. Thanks

I checked out his facebook. He seems to be up around Charlotte. It won't work with what I am trying to do but I do thank you for the assistance.

I make enough that I don't have to stress about bills or anything and can order the cheese dip at Mexican Restaurants, but I'm sure I fall short of having Paddock money and probably should go ahead and ban myself from posting here until I do. What's the Paddock threshold so I know what to work towards?
