I make enough that I don't have to stress about bills or anything and can order the cheese dip at Mexican Restaurants, but I'm sure I fall short of having Paddock money and probably should go ahead and ban myself from posting here until I do. What's the Paddock threshold so I know what to work towards?

How much does Cal make? If you make in that vicinity you can stay.. BUT, people will hate on you for making it.

$130k base, plus 25% bonus, plus 20% stocks...about $188k all in. Wife makes six figures too, so can’t complain. However, my current role is a bit of a step back from my previous role. My position was eliminated there, and I got a year’s severance...bought a house with that I couldn’t have otherwise afforded. Worked hard to get here, but still think there’s upside...of course, the higher you get in an organization, the more risk there is. You’re only as good as your current boss says you are. The insecure boss who got rid of me at the last job just got fired...can’t cash a check on that, but it gives me some level of satisfaction

Any chance we can be friends at some point in the future?

I work at Toyota. It’s a secret but a little over a hunnert thousand a year. Been there 29 years.

Best rides on the planet. It's all I buy and my grandfather had GMC dealership for about 25 years. I have 3, still have my 2003 Highlander with 300k+ miles from college. All I've replaced is the air compressor (of course) and sht in the rear end (of course)

$42,500. Relatively young. Not much debt. Own my house. Well, technically, the bank does for now lol

Sell sneakers and other stuff on the side to supplement my income. But trying to ramp everything up next year.

Damn when you get your way and socialism is implemented you'll make like 3 peanuts and 5 grand. Cortez says it will all workout somehow so I guess we have that.

I used to make a lot more in the commercial banking world. I love my current job and was willing to take a pay cut for my happiness and job stability.

I don't live lavishly, obviously. But I don't struggle.

That's where I'm at. I left teaching because I wasnt allowed to reach the kids and in my American Government class I was stopped from teaching real events and histroy. Teachers have no control over how they teach today, the government forces stupid on the kids and I just couldn't take it anymore.

Really loving sales and my freedom. I make more too. But I miss coaching and the kids.

Similar for me. I was a high school teacher for 2 years, the paperwork and the knuckle headed parents did me in though. I am in sales too, probably make 2-1/2 times more than if I were still teaching. I do miss coaching football though.

Just like, how to get into it.

Consider me borderline CDC in your profession.

I’m on the mortgage side of things. Honestly not sure what is tougher getting started on, selling real estate or doing mortgage lending as I have never sold real estate. I have been doing loan origination for 16 years now and that too has been a roller coaster but that is sales in general for the most part. In what area of real estate are you interested in pursuing?

Teaching was too hard for two pussies. No surprise.

I'd love to see how the government was keeping you from teaching basic US History. You were probably just an incredibly ****** teacher. But hey, blame someone else. Accountability!

Do some research next time before you say a bunch of ignorant stuff.
Not much to research. I know plenty of teachers (previously married to one) and what their responsibilities are and time worked is.

Dealing with parents isn’t desirable, but neither is the work related stress issues business gives the rest of us, and we don’t get to cry on the news about what we make and whether or not our retirement strategy will sustain itself.

I never understood how teachers make martyrs out of themselves while spending all summer taking selfies on Facebook and enjoying life.

lol, you can make a lot of money and also have happiness and job stability.

But hey, keep undermining your self worth. You'll figure it out one day. Or not.

I am retired with a pension and a converted 401k. I am fortunate in that I do not have to live off of my 401k money but due to my age I must withdraw a certain percentage each year. I became debt free 10 years before retirement and have been retired for 10 years. So no mortgage for over 20 years. You can do a lot when you don't make house payments.

So my answer to the question is I do not have annual earnings or a salary. I control what I want my "income" to be and so far I can live off of social security and the pension. But to do that you have to be debt free, especially your house and trucks.

Kentucky teachers’s pay is ranked 8th nationally when adjusted for cost of living.

Sorry your number came up when they had the yearly teacher draft and you had no choice in the matter. Dems the brakes.

There are already way too many terrible teachers, because they hate their job! I’m sure you support incompetence being a liberal and all.

If you add a zero to my annual salary my first year out of UK you get pretty close to my current salary. It’s enough, but not really where I would like to be.

It is a career....just like any other career....if you are not making enough money then do like everyone else does......work a side job or change careers......don't expect society to subsidize you for your career choice.....

But your coaching record is perfect, right? Unlike Cal’s.

I pimp out the wife every weekend to help make ends meet.

Well I am currently undefeated .. LOL JK , I've coached lots of stuff including a college sport . Played on a sweet 16 baseball and basketball team .

I'm watching "The Handyman" do a live stream on YT. Apparently, we're all in the wrong business. He says he's knocking down between $10-$12k/month... JUST off You Tube commissions. That is in addition to his ridiculously lucrative handyman career, rental property ownership and You Tube sponsorships.

Dude charged a homeowner $300 per TV to hang 3 TV's. Hang them. Not run a new outlet, not fish cables thru walls... bolted 3 new brackets to the wall. Apparently, knowing how to do manly things is a rarity that has increasing value in today's society...

Edit: This is fascinating. Says Oct-Dec is his busy time. Made $25k off scial media since October this year. Dammit boy.
