It's just annoying to see these posts made about being whatever and 0 and calling out anyone who may not be satisfied with what's going on. Well here I am. Banker rushing 3 lineman upsets me. Our punts getting blocked upsets me. Not being able to have any sort of good line play against Purdue really upsets me.
We won, that's all that matters. Good teams win games even when they don't play well. Remember we gave up 55 to this team last year. It wasn't pretty but we got the W. Will we beat Wisky if we play like that? Almost certainly not, but we didn't play them this week so it doesn't matter. You don't have to be better than every team every week, you just need to be better than one team each week and we have been 7 times.
I get your frustration. We have lots of things to work on and improve. We are far from a polished team.
Calling out Banker the coach of the unit that is playing the best ball is funny to me.
How do people not understand that people are happy about where this team is now based on their talent level and preseason expectations? No one here is saying they would be happy if this was the ceiling for Mike Reilly at Nebraska. No one thinks this team is perfect. No one is satisfied With where the program is. But this is a start and it's ok to realize that things appear to moving in the right direction. My god, just try to enjoy the ride. We could get beat by Wisconsin and Ohio state very easily, but this isn't the year we expected to go head to head and challenge the top.
Real Nebraska fans are happy to get the win, but still have significant concerns about the next couple of weeks. It was a very ugly win, but I'll take it.
I'm just hopeful that we can get somewhat healthy this week, and be able to slow down Wisconsin's run game, because despite today's poor pass defense, I think we can still shut down Wisconsin's passing attack, because it isn't to the level of Purdue.
Getting Westerkamp and Carter back would open up our running game that much more, and we need it with the injuries on the OLine.
I believe it was a hundred yards below their season totals for offense, but they are the worst team in college football so.....
I give props when I see good football. I posted last week I was encouraged by the defensive play against Indiana this week given the big pass plays I am less than enthused.
Be honest are you not concerned about how this team played against Purdue a team Iowa trounced and scored 49 on and the same team Maryland beat 50-7
Good post. My biggest concern about the Wisconsin game is that if we play a 4 quarter game and beat them, a lot of folks who follow this team might have to be put on suicide watch.
Anybody calling out Banker is flat out clueless.
And I get that. I'm glad we're 7-0 but the season is far from over and I just don't see us winning the next two weeks based on everything I've seen. And apparently that makes me a bad fan.
Please explain to me why I'm clueless.

That is about the longest straw I have seen in awhile. Of course their win against LSU or close games against MI and OSU plus now a win against Iowa do not factor in. WI will be a heavy favorite next week based on how the teams have played
One area that I see a big improvement on this year is on the defense side of the ball, and the half time adjustments by the coaches .
Last year we allowed Purdue to score 55 points on us vs only 14 points this year. .
Also, Purdue didn't score one time in the second half today, and only had like 24 total yards rushing. Defense has really stepped up.
Love being 7-0. Beats the alternative. Proud of this team . Go Huskers!

Some of you guys understand that we have a lot of guys who haven't been able to practice and are game time decisions. Blame the last staff for not leaving the requisite depth on the OL

Oh you need to get off that pony it's a desperate comment only meant to hide your insecurity about this staff. I was so tired of the last staff for falling on its face when they had chances to win conference titles and of course the obligatory crappy game against an inferior opponent each year. I hope this staff does not have the same issues.
You can search every post I have made on here, find one that indicates I want NU to lose. My loyalty is to the program not Riley nor Pelini. I want this program to win and get back to relevance I could care less what coach gets us there
Boy I hate these threads.. Like people don't have a reason to be skeptical. Yes 7-0 and a lot better than we were last year but this team has a lot of holes. Next 2 weeks will tell the true story..
No one said we don't have a lot of holes. We are lacking in depth and a lot of injuries. Accept that and move on. Enjoy 7-0 and stop reminding us that we are not that good. It's you that has the issues, not the team.

No need to celebrate a win that gets us to 7-0? My goodness. In case everyone hasn't seen my posts every week after wins, I have said that style points don't matter right now, let's get wins. I realize these haven't been the prettiest, but it's a win and I will celebrate it no matter what. After reading some posts today, I almost felt necessary to apologize for being 7-0.
Iowa and Maryland were also playing against a coaching staff that was still concerned about keeping their jobs. This staff today could do whatever they wanted to try, because they know they are auditioning for other jobs.
Without Carter and Westerkamp on the field, they can also commit more players to stopping the run. If we play this team without their staff being fired in the past week, and with two of our best playmakers on offense, this game isn't close.
Don't worry...with both Westy and Carter healthy, we're better than Iowa and Maryland.
No I don't have issues with the wins. I'm a realist however. No one is upset about 7-0 just want the team to clean up some things before we hit this tough stretch.

Oline has 7 good ankles out of ten. Newby got yards in the second half when we ran jet sweep decoy but not when it was straight at them. No idea of whether Conrad would have been a better option. We were one big play of holding them to 7.
We do play a quality club next Saturday. We have more than a punchers chance if our front seven can play the run.

That makes me sad. I haven't been over there in years, but I just can't believe those guys are actually rooting against Riley. Is that actually still the case, or were they just pissed about last year and how poorly the year went?
Oh they were pissed about Bo getting fired. Harold boasted on the board that he was working on getting recruits to decommit a after he was canned.
