Well when we play you guys in the eastern championship maybe you'll have a change of tune, LOL
I don't care about ED, they will be 2AA. but that doesn't matter anyway, I picked WRH to win 28-14. Keep overlooking the Stallions. We only make it to the eastern finals like every other year, including last year and we didn't lose much especially our QB who is a HS superstar on both sides of the ball.
Those aren't "chipshots" rankings. He was referencing Brian Simmons weekly rankings he posts using a computer which takes into account strength of schedule, and SOS of opponents played.
You'd be broke then. Check out our record vs East Bladen in the playoffs the last 15 years.
South and East played a really entertaining game and a hard hitting game. If East had made there extra point and we go to overtime, who knows who wins it. Both teams had stretches of momentum on offense and both basically played really good defense most of the game. Both teams had costly turnovers and both teams had costly penalties. It was just a really good game, hope both these teams continue to get better and make some noise in the playoffs. Both teams really need to pass the ball more, especially South. That has to happen to do well in the playoff, imo.
For those of you that have access to The News Reporter. There is a very interesting sequence of photos on the play on the winning drive by South. You make the call. Was it an int. or not. Next to last photo shows IMO East kid with ball in possession on the ground. Play should have been dead at that point. Would have been interesting to see how it turned out if the call was made. Win some lose some . Have to give it to the South kid , never gave up and got the call!
Who knows what would have happened Buck. Eagles last score came when a South player was called for interference, we thought the pass was uncatchable. No doubt the East guys will think it was the right call, so who knows. What I do know is that both teams scored 2 touchdowns and kept both bleachers on the edge of their seat!
Franklin posted on FB this morning that the News Repeater was going to publish some pics.....well anything to discredit anything South does....after all it is Whitesville....
Dogs, why do you think EB should have won? Just curious, I have heard you say that a couple times but haven't really heard an explanation. I thought the teams were pretty evenly matched.
Field position was EB's for three quarters. They had costly penalties and turnovers that kept them from scoring, I thought. In the fourth quarter, SC played their game ( wing t) and won.Also, I don't understand some of the passing calls EB called when they could have stayed with the run. I'm definitely not saying SC didn't deserve to win. They did what they needed to, plus one good catch that was really a interception
Would love to know what the total yardage was for each team. As far as the interception, the referee called what he saw. Don't know what his position was but it would have had to be perfect to overturn that catch, imo. They both go up for the ball and the South player immediately gets up with the ball. South did drive down in the first half and I thought they were going to score but threw an intereception in the endzone. I really thought South did a great job of shutting down the run from late 3rd qtr. on and pretty much forced East to throw the ball. Also remember that South had East backed up deep and forced them to punt, South gets the ball on the 50 and fumbles next play. That's how East got their first score if I am mistaken., either first or second score, lol. Anyway, it was a great game with both teams playing their hearts out. Movin on to next week. Teams were even. Defense and offense. Momentum and ball control seemed even spread at different times throughout the game. Came down to QB producing. Souths did and EBs didn't. Nothing against EBs QB, just wasn't his game. Seems like a good respectful kid. If he connects with some of those passes the game would have been different for sure. The calls are what they are. Can't change them now.
Have any you Stallion faithfuls even seen the stats on this game? It wasn't close as y'all think. I know, I know the score is what counts. I think both teams were pretty evenly matched. Of course some will still think the better team won. Well, I don't now after seeing the stats,and after seeing that pass on video is very questionable, the still shots by the News Reporter shows EB player with ball on ground, the play should have blown dead right there. . I do hope there is a rematch come playoff time, the Eagles will be primed for revenge. As ebhsfan stated; "Some of you go ahead gloat" for now. See y'all later!
Not the type to gloat. Great game. SC just came out with the win. Like I said....one completed pass by QB and this game would have been different. Who knows what would have happened. Not disrespecting anyone with EB. They have a great program.
I honestly don't think anybody can gloat over that win. If it was me "gloating" please point it out to me. I did try to say to Dogs79 that South did have some field position besides in the 4th quarter, but that's it. Can't state enough how evenly matched these teams were and the game was won by a missed extra point. Again, the game could have gone either way. As I stated, I have not seen the stats but will have to wait for the News Reporter to be delivered tomorrow. Eagles have a great team I am sure will do great in the playoffs.
The "gloating" was only me posting the prediction thread that had every poster picking East Bladen "I see some wrong predictions". I guess that's considered gloating in these PC days.
I call it chirping and I think you should. I might disagree with a lot, but I do agree that a win is a win. Like in golf, there is no pictures on the score card
SC does their talking on the field. Quit crying about this and that, one point or ten still got a win. If they meet again,SC will probably take it too. EB has on the past lost a game or 2 they could have won,it happens. You didn't hear coach Dove make excuses last years championship game in East did you,he said they just got beat by better team,learn some class EB man.whiteville will be next big challenge for SC. Should be a good one too.
