If they play like they did Friday night it will be close and could go either way. Still can’t believe the team I saw play Friday night was the same one that I saw against North Rowan.
I would hope they win this one going away. I don't think they can play any flatter than they looked last Friday at North Stanly. They had zero emotion in a county rivalry game. I was surprised.
SD has one win all time and that was during 2012 or 13 season when they had to forfiet to several teams in the YVC for ineligible players. Game score was like 60-0. SD has been knocking on the door all year for a win and they will not quit playing like they used to. Dogs win 28-13.
Albemarle had a total neltdown on offense against NS...Not sure if it was a hangover from the NR game or the fact that we had 9 not dressed out...Some of them offensive linenan....Who the knows?????
If you guys think these undressed jv players would have made a difference you are crazy.
After that game, I don’t know what else to say... Albemarle definitely has the talent because I’ve seen it.

No way South beats Albemarle. They are better than last year, but still as weak as water. The new guy is going to have to have some time to get a program established.
I would agree that this year has been a little disappointing especially after the jamboree scrimmages. We do have a lot of speed and finally a quarterback that can throw the ball and run. Our problem has been that we are weak in the offensive and defensive line and our special teams have been horrible. I don’t think I can remember any season where I have seen more high snaps and snaps completely over the punters head than I have seen this year. Hopefully we beat South Davidson and get some of our confidence back and finish the year strong.
Ok, I have held quite as long as I can take it. Have you “bulldog fans” ever stop to think that Albemarle may not be as bad as you think they are. You are turning your backs on them and it’s all because they lost to NS. Heck, you should be used to that. NS is a built and well coached team. What are you gonna say when they beat NR by 3 TD’s this week? I have a little fact for you. Since NR had dropped to 1A, they have never beat the Comets. And it’s because of the coaching staff watching film and having their defense ready to play. Go back and look what every one of you said last year about this game. And when the Comets went on the road and smacked NR in the mouth, the first thing you guys said was NR wasn’t that good.
It just blow my mind that you guys turn on your team before you say that NS is legit. We will see.

North had the better players and better team last year but it will be a different story this year.I think the close game with Albemarle showed them that if they didn’t bring their A game and being ready to play every Friday they could get beat in the conference. I think they will remember the last two years and I think North Rowan wins big.
I could be wrong, but I believe he’s been here 3 years. Also this isn’t college football.

I should have been more clear about who I was talking about. My fault for sure. I was talking about the South Davidson coach, as this is his first year at the helm after being an assistant for quite a few years. I apologize for the confusion.
South davidson has played a couple decent teams close this year.. but hasnt played as well the last 2 weeks
South stokes and south stanly. Not great but decent 1a teams. South davidson has good coaching now. John shelton who led south to 3 straight winning seasons from 2002-2004 is on the staff. Tim Hill the Head coach beloved by the kids. Just hoping to get back to being competitive. Little steps.

Whew... what would it be like to be the best player on a team like South Davidson... do you stick around and take the beatings... and likely suffer the effects of another coaching change (because many SD supporters think a coach should make them respectable in a season or two), or do you find a way to move into a different school’s district?
42 and 24 for sd are good players. Tough kids. Albermarle has alot of talent and speed really think if they are clocking they can beat alot of teams.
I dont know that anybody at south expects to turn it around in a year or 2. We know it a uphill battle. Its a tough job. But as far as the last few coaching changes at south they were more because of stuff that happened off the field. Like being arrested or teacher cuts. Luckily i think the coaching staff here now is there for the long haul.
The arrested thing... I get that... but I don’t buy the teacher cut thing. I’m pretty sure the last coach had made his decision not to coach football at South prior to moving him to an elementary school. I mean, who would move their head football coach off campus? I could be wrong...
He didn’t have nice things to say about many of the parents he had to deal with down there. I do hope that the new guy is getting treated well. I hope he sticks around and someone commits to getting those kids in the weight room and other conditioning activities.
I think both are below average. South Stokes has played a very weak schedule.

They moved john shelton to the elementary school teacher job years ago and he had 3 straight winning seasons as head coach at south. He now is retired from school system but came back to be defensive coordinator now. D is running a 4-4. O is running a spread option look. Dont really have a qb that can throw much. So they basically have the best athlete playing qb
