Until somebody in 2a beats them, the title goes through Shelby. Last year Shelby completely shut down S.P. We'll find out in a couple weeks if S.P. Has anything for Shelby this year.
Made my predictions in 3rd week of season..still holding to them...South Point/E. Duplin......Shelby/WRH (OR Reidsville if they go east)
Punching Shelby in the nose on Nov 3rd would be a good start! Get back to me after that happens.
I can't say that the OP is a troll, but I do think that such a bold post from a first timer is quite suspect and should be taken with less than a grain of salt. There are still a lot of games to be played between now and 12/9.
The Shelby - SP game does not settle the state championship race in any way but it does make the loser of that game's path much more difficult. Even though rated as the top two teams in the state, because they are in the same conference, the loser will have a low seed in the playoffs (maybe 7th) because all conference champions get the top seeds. That will mean a lot of road games for the loser. Regardless, I pity those higher seeded conference champs that will have to face the Shelby-SP loser on their own home field. If Shelby does go 2A, I predict two future state champions will be squaring off in two weeks in Belmont. A very fitting state playoff warm up! All NC will be watching.
i guarantee you that "if" we lose in the playoffs, and we very well may, its going to take a very stacked team to do it. we are loaded this year like some of your beloved western teams.
Eastern teams are "loaded" until they meet a western team.

Let me just say this while Shelby lost to South Pointe Rock Hill, SC remember this. South Pointe Rock Hill is ranked # 17 in the whole country and only beat Shelby 25-0. So before you say South Pointe will win it all better sure your referencing the team that Shelby lost to. Championship goes through Shelby unless otherwise posted.
Good point ^ . Shelby has to get by East Rutherford before thinking about South Point or anyone in playoffs , much less any Eastern team or championship .
Or like the year South Point had a good team that was going to make noise in the playoffs , QB got hurt and South Point was one and done , sorry , just had to do that ! Maybe some Crest posters can chime in and give everyone a low down on that .
Yep, maybe one our best teams. Weddington, who was a tough 1st round opponent, takes out our Qb (Horne) and the party was over. IMHO, that team would have won us another.
I hope our QB is back for the big showdown with the Point but even if Shelby loses , we will be a nightmare for anyone hosting us early !

Manhandled? Did you go to the game? I am guessing not. Anyone that was at the game will tell you there was no "manhandling" going on. South Pointe won on the big play. They didn't form a single manhandling drive in the entire game. 13-0 with a couple minutes left in the third quarter is not manhandling.

We have won 4 State Championships in a row...something only 2 other schools in the state have done.

I hope this isn't true. If we to go 2A I want y'all to roll 2AA so we win two titles again since we will be beating you next Friday. (We actually won 3 last year....2AA, 3A, 3AA.)
Yep that's been a excuse for past years but NO excuses this year Both teams dialed in and playing great ball. Epic matchup that's for sure
