72 logic. We will beat you because we did in 1972 and 1974. We will beat you because you got out on us early and SP was lucky. The blocked punt was execution not luck. No bad snap just a jail break. Alexander's 56 yard TD run was not lucky. Just execution. Shelby averaged 3.8 yards per play while SP averaged almost double that at 7.5 yard per play with no pass completions. SP fumbled 3 times and lost one. Shelby's never fumbled the ball although Surratt carried it around like a loaf of bread and was sacked multiple times. Shelby's only TO was a hail mary interception with no time left before halftime. If our blocked punt was lucky, then I assume that Shelby's KO return was lucky. The next game may be different, but you are revising history if you continue with calling that a close game. IMO, we were going to play the Lions one more time anyway. I prefer that it be this Friday.
Your very correct what SP did factored heavily in what happened. It was a solid beating. It doesn't matter how anyone spins it a beating is a beating. I am encouraged by what I saw from Shelby against NC. The O line played a much better game, while it wasn't against the competition that SP is it was one of the best performances of the year for this group that has struggled against everyone. Also liked the game plan much better, more of what this teams talent is suited for. It very well may be the same outcome or worse but then again this is why they play the games anything can happen.

It saddens me that Shelby only has 4 more days of football left in their season. It was a good run, fellas.
Lol... he who laughs first, laughs last. Our boys are confident, and they will get it done Friday. What’s going to be so sad is South Point’s great season ending prematurely, in the second round. It will be a shame that a team with such high expectations and aspirations had to bow out so soon, second round. You guys really feeling like another state championship is a given. You guys are going to be stunned late Friday night on into Saturday morning, but you, personally, will have Charlotte Catholic to pull for, once you’re over the numbness of the Raiders losing to us Friday.

No. Have given up only 6 1st qtr points this year.
We’re scoring 6 on the opening drive Friday, and after Friday night, I will offer you half on that hotel room in Chapel Hill you reserved. It won’t do you any good. Hook a brother up.

And, to you Hibriten posters, no, I’m not sleeping on you guys, even though your one point victory over NC gives me cause to pause. NC had athleticism all over the field, they were fast, but they’re D left little to be desired.

I see you have abandoned Realville? I would love to be wrong about Friday's game.

Yes, we’re handling “bizness” Friday. We will be very good on offense Friday, and disciplined, defensively, and no, I’m not just being happy, because of our showing versus NC, I just feel we’re going to do what we’re accustomed to doing, rising to the occasion in the playoffs, when it matters most.

LA is desperately trying to talk himself into a victory Friday night. So much so, that it's even tearing me up a little. Emotionally, I understand it. However, no facts support it.

LA, in case no one ever told you, Santa isn't real.

I thought Shelby had enough down low to get it done against SP the first go round based off how they played last year, and figuring their coaches had looked at some film THIS year instead of watching last year’s SP-Shelby film with those hearts in eyes emojis. I was wrong. ALL APOLOGIES.

So now I’ve seen Shelby is a “sweet” team that waits around to break pass screens, crossing patterns open & basically runs draws and stretches on offense. Just lazy. On Defense, they tried to rely on one stud on that side of the ball to win a game for them against 11 seasoned vet players working as a team. Poor #44- going up against that wall will absolutely DRAIN YOU.

Now, we re-gather at Lineberger to watch what will be a closer matchup. No more 20-19 wins followed up by 41-6 wins for Shelby (very notable year/teams..’87). No more losses by 1 point, only to be followed up by 1 point win for Shelby (the best one year /two game set in SP-Shelby history by far and definitely two great teams..’93). The first game was won by our coaching this year…. a departure in historical matchups where the players were the normal deciding factors. But, in this second game, I really think it will be the players deciding who is victorious. SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT.

Good luck to all. It should be festive and entertaining. While the Shelby crowd chews on their convenience store meat stick and grumbles in the stands, the SP people will display vigor with every snap. Shelby will be left Saturday morning stumbling around their bathroom looking for their LITHIUM.

Final Score Prediction: S P 24, Shelby 20

I don't know what the final score will be except that SP will have more points than Shelby at the end of the game. And whether that difference is one point or 72, like 99% of all games, we will count that as a SP win and move on to round three.

It's like waiting on someone to die. An impending grieving process fixing to start. Hope it ain't me...... Funny how every school has certain fans, you love to see them lose! I guess that's the silver lining.

I'm tired of Lions. They are like crotch itch. The more you try to get rid of it, the more it sticks around.

Do you think we should do something nice for them - maybe get them some pretty red and black bows to wear in their manes?

No, I think we should kick them in their red arse and send them home with black eyes.

Time to silence this Cleveland County noise for good!
