SP laid an egg at the wrong time. Not sure why coaching staff decided to change game plan from last game. 3 man rush on Surratt makes no sense as he will pick you apart. We did not keep him on the run tonight. Shelby D made some nice adjustments and Hollifield made a lot of plays. Several plays that were not what you want to see out of a quality player, but he certainly made a lot of plays. Not blaming refs for loss, but they were pop warner level. First time that I have ever seen delay of game called on a ball boy. That was one of many. SP had their chances and the fumble on the kick return took away any chance to come back. Good luck to Shelby.

Congrats Lions! True to form

Congrats South Point on a great season, no other 2A team in NC could have beat the Raiders.

72/98 should be banned from posting until next Friday. All of his names and his ip address.

SP fans deserve that much. Just for a breather.

Classic battle between two great teams. Shelby made plays coming from behind twice late in the game.
Congrats to the Lions as they move on. Congrats to the Raiders you made us all proud. Our kids stood strong after losing Phillip Davis to an ACL injury just after he was selected to the Shrine Bowl and defensive MVP of last years 3A state championship game as well.
Again congrats to Shelby and good luck the rest of the way.

Congratulations to the Golden Lions. You showed why you are four (soon to be 5) time champions. You got into the Raider's heads early and beat them badly in the mental game which is so vital down the stretch. SP really played like an untested team tonight which was caused by Shelby's toughness. The Golden Lions adjusted, we did not. It's been a fun year and we just saw the state championship game three weeks early. Congrats to the Red Raiders for a great year and congrats to the Golden Lions for a well played tough game. Go on now and make it official. Five time state champions.
