RR73 - how many do you think will be coming from Belmont this week? I keep remembering when we went to West Rowan the first time It was cold and hardly no where to sit. However, I don't think the situation at Dudley will be that way as they have a traditionally strong football program.

Any Dudley folks know how many your visitor side seating will hold? I am thinking around 1500 plus whatever standing capacity around the track area.
The Vistor side holds 3,000 & the Home side holds 5,000. 8,000 all together.

I would be really surprised if Dudley has as a complete of team as Hickory Ridge. HR was easily the best team SP faced this year and it wasn’t close.
Dudley and South Point has played two common teams in Kings Mountain and Eastern Guilford. Kings Mountain went 1-1 losing 24-7 to KM and winning against EG 41-31. Dudley went 2-0 defeating KM 36-10 and defeating Eastern Guilford for the Conference Championship at Eastern 42-3.

I assumed that the Dudley stadium was old because the school is old. I just watched a video of when the Dudley stadium was built in 2012 and found it to be a very nice facility. Nice stands on both sides of the field with what appears to be great viewing from any seat. We overflowed the Crest visitors side last week and it made watching the game tougher. Look forward to being in Greensboro this coming Friday night. Football in December!

Okay, Belmont fans and other supporters, get your butts up here for Friday, They have enough seating room to handle a 3rd of town population.
As a neutral fan, I will make efforts of coming Friday. If I make it I will sit on SP side.

South Point lost to 4A Hickory Ridge (a last minute substitute) and Crest during regular season (27-26) as well as cutting it close with Forestview (17-14 OT). So glad we didn't have to play 2A Shelby as our hides would have been torn turf grass.

You'll have plenty of room to sit. Alot of people love to stand behind the fence by the track . Our visitor side and home side is about the same. I will give you a heads up that alot Dudley fans love to sit on the visitor side also because it's easier to exit

Yes Dudley is one of the few all black highschools like WS Carver. The original Dudley main building was built in 1929. They started the renovation in 2003 when we had to move students across the street to Lincoln Middle temporarily. And redone most of the school and football facility. They spent close to 3 million on the field house and football field. This was a long time waiting

I will be there along with several hundred Red Raider fans making the trip up I-85 through the hell of Charlotte traffic.
RR73 I find it easier to take 485 around Charlotte get off on Highway 4N to Asheboro (unless you know some of the twists and turns to avoid Harrisburg which will bring you back to 49 north of Hburg)
Pickup what used to be Highway 220N now I - 73N in Asheboro to Greensboro. Stay on 220 you can see the field on your right. Your own your own about parking!
A little longer drive but normally a lot less traffic, especially after you clear the Harrisburg area.

Will you be there this week? If so, I might even get the hubby to attend.

Unfortunately no. Still have great memories of that place when you, Footsoldier and I were there for the Catholic game. The visitor side is awesome and the fish is great. Good food and very friendly people. Make sure George goes with you. He brings the Red Raiders luck every time!

It will be a great football game! South Point has been known to run the option very well. Dudley's Defense as been pretty tough against the run this year. The X-Factor is gonna be Wall and Baker! If these two Dudley Panthers get rolling its gonna be a long night for South Point. My prediction is Dudley wins 35-20!!!

If Dudley gets rolling, it could be that way. Of, it could end up being a 21-20 game if both defenses are primed and ready to go.

South Point having long drives and keeping the Dboyz offense off the field will be key. If Dudley gets rolling early it is over
I think the game will come down to how well SP can stop Dudley. Given Dudley's lack of exposure to the Red Bone I think SP will be able to move the ball well enough to stay in the game if the defense allows.

One common opponent is Eastern Guilford. Dudley beat them 42-3 and total offense was 600+ to less than 100. SP beat them 41-31 and had a good offensive night with Riley setting the county record with 372 yards rushing. However, we gave up a lot of passing yardage to EG. It is one common opponent but shows what the Raiders are up against on Friday night.

If Dudley can take getting smacked in the mouth every play by a disciplined, hard ***, well oiled machine, they might be able to squeak it out!

If not, I’m sure many Panthers will enjoy a fine college career after this high school football game.

If SP can control the line of scrimmage they have a shot as as long as they can stay close on the scoreboard. Dudleys front 7 are the best I have seen all year other than ours. Number 44 at linebacker for Dudley is a awesome run stuffer. We had runs that would have been big gainers for us against any other team limited to 3 yards by him and the Panther D. Number 44 reminds me of that awesome lb at Chambers a few seasons back. SP needs to grind it out against Dudley and keep those chains moving. A low scoring methodical game with no turnovers would be ideal for SP. In my opinion this is not the best Dudley team I have seen but they are the real deal on both sides of the ball. Good luck to SP and safe travelin' for the fans. I have not decided what game I am going to. Hough and Chambers is alot closer but SP/Dudley is a good match up plus those tasty fish plates are tha' bomb!!😃😃😃😃😃

Coach Davis will have our Boyz ready I believe our fellow comrades at Charlotte Catholic made Davis a better coach ,he pays attention to detail with a discipline team's that has unorthodox offenses. All I'm hearing is Red Bone this and Red Bone that. Our defense is very discipline. The real question is can your offense keep up with ours? We strike quick and just know our defense will be ready believe that. And to who said if can Dudley stand getting smacked or punched in the mouth. Of course we can ...lol . We love phonebooth fights.... . We'll see what it look like in those trenches.

Friday can't come soon enough!
See ya at Tarp!

Have had the privilege of watching multiple Catholic-Dudley games over the years. All close, hard fought games but Dudley got the better of it most years. Coach Davis at Dudley is out and out one of the best high coaches in the state of North Carolina, period. Dudley plays fundamental football and, while always big and athletic, are among the most disciplined in the state. They will not beat themselves. South Point can win as the option gives them a wrinkle that few high school teams can execute but they can't make mistakes or Dudley will punish them. The Dudley stadium is also one of the better high school venues too. Saw the comments on the fried fish. It is the real deal. Go early and plan on eating your dinner there. The Dudley crowd treats their visitors well but unfortunately sends most of them home with a "L."
