Your 5th year coach only beat a 2nd year coach = a 1st year coach is playing for the SEC title this weekend.
We only lost because Freeze inherited a terrible roster, but when he finally gets his own players he'll win the SEC = Mullen inherited a roster with less talent across the board and is just now getting "his guys" onto the field. The fact that we've been able to field any kind of offensive line over the last couple of years is incredible.
MSU only recruits players from Mississippi because they aren't attractive on a national level. Mississippi only really produces 10-15 SEC level athletes every year. Other than that they are poaching players from U of Memphis and USM. = 3 of the last 4 starting QB's at MSU were not from Mississippi. In the last couple of years, Memphis has produced more 1st round picks (1) than them. Ole Miss will in fact start a poached USM player next season. To boot, Ole Miss is in every high school history book in the US for the wrong reasons... still not attractive on a national level and likely will never be.
You were wanting to fire your coach wednesday and now you want to give him a raise for beating us. #littlebrother lolz = MSU improved after every game this season and handed two teams now playing for their conference titles their toughest games of the year, all while playing without the starting safety, both of last year's corners, our "top 2" defensive linemen, our 1st string and in 2 1/2 our 2nd string QB, all of our TE's at some point (had to burn a shirt in the 8th game of the year), and a couple serviceable backups like Bohanna. If Mullen had lost to Ole Miss he would have shown me he floundered, and if we're not going to set ourselves up to win big in the next couple of seasons I would have liked to have looked elsewhere. I'm happy with what we have minus some assistants now, and he gave me a reason to believe that.
Yall wanted it more. LSU is our real rival. = You got out-coached and out-played, but admitting that would negate how important getting 5 star players is to your team's future... because aside from Chris Jones it was done by "scrubs." I'm from LSU country and my best friend is from an LSU family that ended up sending 2 of their daughters to Ole Miss. LSU is as much of Ole Miss' rival as Alabama or Auburn is ours. I think they need to reflect on what it means to be in a conference. All 13 other teams are your rivals. I hate Auburn with the power of 1000 suns, but Ole Miss is our "rival" for a billion reasons... on both sides. LSU has a 4' tall gold plated trophy for their Arkansas game, and according to said friend's family they HATE Arkansas, but Arkansas is horrible right now so how are they suppose to care about that game? Then LSU has Alabama which is probably the BIGGEST game every season, and then their permanent opponent is Florida which usually means something. Somehow is Ole Miss is suppose to be their "rival"? Makes sense. Maybe we should have a trophy created for the UK game, because apparently that's all it takes. Take care of MSU and Vandy before you can get on LSU's level.
I mean, are we this bad? We spin some stuff but damn...
ETA: We're obsessed for discussing such a subject.
