St.Pauls @ Midway (Tuesday 10/5)

Interesting game. I think Midway hanging so tough with Clinton is more of an indictment on the Darkhorses being a bit overrated than Midway being a major threat…but a win over St. Pauls (on short rest) would have me reconsidering my take.

Midway was ranked in to 20 late in the gamd clinton had a 44~21 lead and midwat scored twice in the last qrt to pull wiyhin 9 i dont thinke the issur was ever in doubt

Like i said Friday if Midway hangs tough with St. Pauls ill feel alil better. Yes Clinton at one time lead by 23 but let Midway score a couple late TDs to make it respectable. No big deal or is a ghost from the Spring season still haunting us. Remember being up 27-14 vs Eastern Randolph with what like 6 mins left in game. We all know how that ended. Midway has a great QB and a offense designed to score fast but i still cant help but feel alil uneasy about defensive performance last 2 games.

Alot of eyes will be on this one i believe St. Pauls wins because i dont see Midway's defense being able to contain the Baldwin kid. They also had issues with Clinton’s Patrick Morrissey so i would expect St. Pauls Eddrick James to have his way with the Midway secondary aswell.

Midway punts with 1:08 left and St. Pauls and that offense drives down and scores again. 24-20 SP leads and gets ball after half

Halftime 24-20 St. Pauls. Offense for the Bulldogs looks good had a 74 yard TD called back was their one setback. Defensively leaves much to be desired actually kinda look like a team i follow closely lol. Next Tuesday may just be a shootout last one with the ball wins. Midway is playing hard for their credit have uncharacteristically ran the ball very well.

Watching this online. Both teams pretty impressive offensively. Should be a good 2nd half. I have a feeling I know how the posts will read afterwards regardless of which team wins.

Question I have for Clinton posters. I know the Midway AD is a Clinton guy. Is one of the Midway assistant coaches a former member of the Clinton staff? I know that the former defensive coordinator took a job in Florida last spring and I thought I saw where the offensive coordinator in the spring is now at West Craven (I think). Looking at game on my computer, he looks familiar. Guy in a white sweat shirt. Wasnt sure.

Why such turnover over the last year on the football staff? Better situations? Jobs closer to home? Just curious.

Mike Bell is at Midway now last Coached at Clinton in 2018.

Dennis Mcfatten the d coordinator that took the job in Florida is originally from Florida so cant really blame him for accepting a job in home state. And im willing to bet pay was better.

Not sure why Coach Matt Grady left for West Craven maybe @Otis4411 can talk to him and ask why.

I've talked to him some but I have not discussed Clinton with him. With covid now I try to stay away from practices so the only time I'm around him is pregame. His dad sat with us at the endzone camera for the Washington game. I enjoyed talking to him. He is very knowledgeable about the game. Football runs deep in the Grady family. I have learned that.

3rd game of the year after 2 covid pauses the fact their offense is in rhythm like that is flat out impressive i dont care who you playing. Defensively leaves much to desire but like some mention above could it be rust from Covid pause who knows. Right now next week looks like whoever gets the ball last or whoever defense can get a stop wins
