It means that you are reading an article that is almost a year old. The quote by board member Melvin Poole (who is no longer on the board) should have been a dead give away! Like most of the info from SCARF, SCU & the SNAP, this is totally irrelevant to the proposed plans. NO decision has been made yet.

The reason that was posted is because Swarigen (not sure of spelling) has changed his opinion from what was quoted in that article.

I agree in his one year old statement that consolidating and closing schools is tough on everyone involved and the communities they come from. I do not agree with the part of statement that Stanly County has good schools. Average at best in NC and that is not very impressive.
