does he threaten to kill Cohen every game, or was it just a one time death threat?

I was listening to Jim Ellis interviewing Frank Rawdow on the broadcast last week and Jim said that Powers is not playing due to having a fractured bone in one of his hands.</p>

sarcasm intended.

Oh, and the most common fracture of the hand is a "boxer's fracture". I'll let ya'll figure out why they call it that.

...Powers punches the wall or something inanimate out of frustration during the game, consequently suffering a "boxer's fracture". Cohen then proceeds to call him what he allegedly did, which would have been an appropriate thing to call a shortstop who just fractured his own hand.

Seriously, I would imagine it would be very difficult to play baseball with a broken bone in your hand. If it's your throwing hand, I would imagine that you would try to compensate because of the pain, which would throw off your accuracy, and change your throwing motion, which could also lead to a shoulder injury. If it's your glove hand, I would imagine that it would hurt everytime you caught a ball, so I guess a catcher would be way worse than say, a left fielder.

I also would have to believe it would hurt your swing to. Again, by compensating for the injury you change your swing which could put you in a slump.

I don't know why the 17 wouldn't show up in my original post.

He actually broke it in the Georgia series getting hit by a pitch that was called a foul ball, get your facts straight

I basically couldn't throw it worth a damn and I was basically swinging one handed when I was hitting. I basically could only hit it to shallow outfield. It sux.

He was hitting .272 (15-55) before the UGA series and is still hitting .272.

Two ways of looking at it - impressive that no one could notice a difference with his play over 6 weeks because he was able to play through the injury OR no one noticed because he sucked as bad after as before.

I am going with option 2.
