I think South Point will put up a fight. At least I hope so. My Cards better limit the mistakes against Rose. I dont think the first meeting was as fluky as others say.
Jacksonville coach is the son of the only coach to bring a ship back to Scotland County... that family knows football.
Thats for sure... Family got New Bern and Scotland a 'ship, and got Jville to the title fame a couple years ago. Glad he brought us out of the darkness
Well remember we were driving to score with only 2 and some change and the freshman fumbled at like the 10 yard line would have tied it up. I just want to see what we do with a full weeks practice to prepare for them. Instead coming off a game Friday then turn around on a Tuesday and play. Especially a team the caliber of New Bern. We will see who wants it more.
Thats the key I think. Who wants it more... And if the freshman gets enough touches. Seems like he could be getting more. Nobody is stopping that warrior for the next 3 yrs.
Tve coaching staff is playing it smart with him. Although the kid is 230lbs. He is still a freshman. Why beat his body up and risk getting him hurt for the next three yrs. They saved him and managed his touches just right all season. You can bet Rose is going to get a real heavy dose of him Friday night. I can promise you if Jacksonville makes it to the title game he will touch the ball 20 plus. But also remember it’s running back by committee. They have to stop 3 other backs who can all fly and everyone knows about tve QB. Rose had better be in shape is all I have to say.
I do like the thought of being smart with the kid. You have a great point. Hes young still, no need to push it. I know we have some athletes coming up on JV too. It could be real special.
The future is real bright. Undefeated JV team. JR high team has been killing folks. POP I arner team playing for regional title. Things are looking real good for a a few years in Cardinal land. JV has a couple of studs. There are a couple of kids from the middle school team who will be varsity starters as well. Here is the scary part. This is not even a Senior dominated team either. Still most of your starters are Jrs with a a few sophomores.
