Impressive numbers offensively in every game but one. What did Byrd do so special to hold this powerful offense to 6 points?
Curious as well especially since no one else held them under 41. I think if I'm not mistaken it was played during the hurricane and I am sure the field was a mess. Maybe it through off the timing of the offense who knows. Definitely hitting on all cylinders now and barring an injury Overstreet should easily break the career rushing record next year. Already has around 5900 yards on his career with at least one game to go this year. Broke the single season points record this year with 45 TDs and 24 two point conversions thus far. Jones the tailback in the wing has 1600 yards and 25 TDs himself and the wingback has over 1000 as well I believe with 14 TDs. As someone who grew up on the single wing and runs it as a coach it is very impressive to see those number . I do think it'll be a high scoring game on Saturday but SR will win. Maybe 56-35.
The field was a mess but Byrd was very good up front this year and had two very good DEs. Very good physical assignment football team with a strong front 7. Byrd had an average secondary and that is where you could hurt them but SR doesn't really have the scheme to take advantage of that.
If you beat the SR offense up front but don't have good discipline they will still run wild. If you have good discipline but get beat up front you might not give up as many big plays but you will be lucky to get any stops. You need to have both to actually have a chance of holding them down.

This is a truly special team this year! Nice articles written about them. Enjoy the ride Staunton River...soak it all in! Coach Poston deserves this and so do those young men! After the MV game at Staunton River, all I can say about them is they are all class! Just such a humble team and staff!
