I respect Shelby as a program i like the coach think he is one of the best.....some of the posters up here though...smh.....make it hard to like Shelby....big headed and cocky does not do it any justice.....this guy slammed East Duplin who for years has been a traditional power out east dor losing to Wallace Rose-Hill another traditional power and a state champion cause they a 1A? Really? That whole we beat 3A schools is fine and dandy but continually slamming other schools cause the region we play in is ignorant plain and simple.....i would suggest Shelltown gets out of Cleveland county and see that its aome quality football played in other places aswell

Bro, i think all teams have them, i respect east football, i still have Dvd of our 97 game, cause i thought that was one of biggest teams id ever seen in HS.
Lets just drop it and focus on next 4 weeks

The DarkHorses are reall looking forward to possibly playing Shelby. You'll see. No one really expected the 2014 team to get to the DC game. Clinton was very young team . Skinner &Company were sophomores then. They're seniors now with much more talent. I wouldn't get too hung up on classification. There are many teams that can compete very well with teams out of their ckass. Wallace Rose Hill is one of them. Clinton and Shelby are two others
Looking forward to the playoffs

we, East Duplin lost to not just any 1A school. we lost to Wallace Rose hill. they have won multiple state championships. and the reason we play Wallace Rose Hill every year is because we are long time county rivals. we are only about 20-25 miles apart. also Wallace Rose Hill regularly plays above their weight class and beats teams in higher classifications. most importantly of all, we lost to them in the very first game of the season. both teams were very sloppy, and both teams were very flat. also one more thing. a lot of teams in our area wont even schedule teams like Wallace Rose Hill for a nonconference game. but one thing about East Duplin is no matter the outcome, we always welcome a challenge, and never back down from one. remember that.

Wiz, ive been on here since 97 when it started, pretty sure u too,.
I think playing another class is somewhat different, like us playing Crest they have couple hundred more athletes to choose from. But i also think that if your good enough year in year out ot dont matter WRH has great program yr in yr out..
Again got 4 games to play

I have a lot of respect for the Shelby program but the posters shouldn't do to other programs what the 4a Meck posters do to them. The Meck posters seem to speak down on yall (which I will always defend cause I think yall can play with anyone) just because yall are 2a, so please don't do the same to other quality 2a teams. Right now yall are the measuring stick and the rest of the 2a world is gunning for yall.

Couple posters talk a little smack and everyone gets all bent out of shape .... ain't this a fun time of year lol

Shelby is good real good yet if someone beats them we will tip the old cap and say great job ... but let me explain something it's gonna take a special team to dethrone us ! No smack talk not being big headed just that's how I feel

Offense isn't as explosive as last year but still putting up points ( save last night) defense is giving up 54 yards rushing a game at 1.7 yards per rush ... 119 yards rushing and passing per game we've given up .. through 11 games ...we still average nearly 400 yards per game offensively and 41 points per game giving up 8 ....

We will have to keep the head down and keep on trucking and play well the rest of the way no doubt and it should be some great games coming soon

Just my opinion I could be wrong ;)

Shelby Lion, honestly in all due respect, Clintonhss that special team. Do not be confused by the 2014 game or the 2014 Clinton team. This team is much different. Some people are saying this is the best team in 20 years 1996-1997 and Clinton has won2. state championships since then (2001 & 2005)
That's still to be seen.i think it best if you read what the zeRH coach said post game. WRH yes 1A WRH would beat most (not all) but most 2A teams. I hope we do get to meet again. It would be a interesting matchup . Good Luck!

Respect that Wizard I certainly do and don't doubt it at all

I agree this isn't 2014 and that has no bearing on the rest of our seasons . This defense is better than the one in 2014 in my opinion ...we've both got a long way to go before a potential matchup , and never know what could happen with kids so a title game appearance isn't a given for anyone ... best of luck the rest of the way

LTown got demolished last night by a quarter back that can flat out run the ball ... since Shelby lost their running back ... cough cough ... if by the grace of god Shelby doesn't go AA, and Lincolnton walks into shelby, you aint gonna be able to throw the ball 46 times a game on us and think you gonna win ... that's all I'm gonna say ... good luck and good luck in the playoffs

We're Shelby, though. We never have a shortage of athletes, we replaced that young man w/ kids that can flat out run ball, one went over a 100 yards versus Crest last night, the other had 69 yards. Your D is too weak for us, it was always suspect. No matter how you slice it, giving up 65 points is ridiculous, it's inexcusable. Trust me, if we were to go small, we are the least bit concerned about you guys, never was honestly.

Lol we lost one game. Yeah we gave up a ton of points and yards, but it's still just one loss that means very little, and we're 10-1 and the games that matter most start in two weeks.

And it's looking like Lincolnton and Shelby will be in different classes. So you might as well waste your time comparing Lincolnton to Alabama and Shelby to New England, because it won't matter one bit if there's no potential for a matchup.

You said it. Your defense may carry you to the state championship again. I would not be surprised if it did. You have athletes on offense and your OL has improved. You'll go deep. Looking forward to watching you surprise a lot of people. We played one of our worst offensive games last night. Previous games don't matter in "THE Family Feud"!! Shelby and Crest always find ways to get up for that game. Can't wait until next year's edition!

Yes we did struggle against the Crest offense.We gave up 3 tds to a offense that is not real good.You can say two were on big plays but fellows big plays count and there is a lot more big play potential in the playoffs then there was Friday night.

Come on now, bruh, some of us are straight shooters just like yourself, don't mind smacking it up a little. We're no different than you whenever you're in threads predicting blowouts versus Lincolnton's opponents, and stating why you feel that you'll beat a particular opponent. Don't contradict yourself, bro. Anyway, goodluck to you guys, too. Hopefully, no.82, a D1 caliber receiver in his own right, get his share of targets going forward, it would certainly benefit the team. You've done a good job suppressing your feelings on that matter. Props!
