from MW at the junction (59min ago): paraphrasing
don't think his team is playing in the ncaat
once they got to the guy they really liked... they stopped right there and made an offer.
still a couple of people on the list just in case it doesn't work out

he could be wrong, but from what he has put together ...state has their guy, it just has to play out

update (41min ago)
he doesn't think it is someone that has been discussed on his site
...he hasn't nailed down exactly who it is, yet

Wardlaw seems all over this search, his site you should join up
what you guys think or heard ...rumors are encouraged!

If it's someone that hasn't been really mentioned yet... It's Chris Mooney from Richmond (shot in the dark).

coaches not currently in the NCAAT that would excite me, let alone the average fan.

Meanwhile, I'm staying away from BDJ.

I can't speak for how he did his customer service but Wardlaw has possibly broken two basketball stories in the past week (Stansbury retirement and if he gets the coaching search).

Pastner from Memphis. I think he feels the pressure in Memphis (they really are not happy with him here), and maybe he thinks he should jump ship now?

He's young, energetic, some of the things we look for.

Don't flame me....it's a 100% guess.

Or, he'll say he knew but couldn't post it. Or his source was sworn to secrecy and couldn't tell him.

I liked the way Pastner handled the mess that Calipari left at Memphis. There was a lot of anger in Memphis after Calipari screwed them over, but Pastner took them into the next season with a positive attitude. Only problem I have is that he hasunderachievedand if we fired Stans for it how short with the leash be on Pastner.

The chats are informative and the articles are good. Yeah, the whole merger thing sucked, but they are going to be a player if Michael keeps breaking stories and John keeps the recruiting info coming. I bought a lifetime and am still using it, so I feel like it has been a good deal for me. On the other hand, the MSU Rivals board is a disaster: Logan comes out with his Biltz Bits half the time in the afternoon and some of their posters are the worse that MSU has to offer.

yes it will. Just email Michael. At least they were when he reopened for business, I would assume they still would be.

again, I think most of you will be happy with our new coach, and it will not be a surprise "off the radar" hire. I was given two names the other day, and was asked not todivulgethe information.

You should DM a trustworthy poster (or moderator) those two names, just so it's documented.<div>
</div><div>Once the announcement is made, said poster can reveal whether or not you were in the know by copy and pasting the dated DM.</div>

once not to talk about theinformationI was given yesterday. I'm not naming any names until I get the green light and if the news breaks in the meantime, so be it. On a side note, I would love to have Martin but that ain't happening.<div>

If BG is right, then it sure isn't one of the following, because the masses would not be pleased: Tim Floyd, Kermit Davis, Jr., Larry Eustachy, Sean Woods, Robert Kirby, John Pelphrey, Phil Cunningham or Marcus Grant, John Cooper, or Jeff Capel.

I think that about covers the undesirables. Oh, and Kenny Payne, too, since many still feel scorned or just don't like his credentials or Kentucky associations.

BDJ is finally starting to recover from the Rival's 17 up. He has an outstanding lifetime membership special going on right now that costs less than an annual subscription anywhere. If I wasn't already a lifer I'd jump on it.

I have 3 guys that I usually turn to for "scoop". They were pretty legit with their info when Stans was the man. They may not know jack anymore. However, all 3 of them told me Joe Dooley. If this is true I have zero problem with him being the next coach.

Frank Martin is in New York through Sunday, working with CBS. His official comment is that he hasn't talked to anyone.

Other than Shaka Kahn, I don't think there is a single person mentioned here or on the other boards that doesn't immediately get slammed by one or more people.

I think that most of the names that have been floated are great choices in their own way. Kenny Payne is actually a pretty good choice, being mentored by some of the nations best. So are the other names being interviewed.
