I knew this would be brought up, because the section set aside was even bigger than in the past
I kept track of the student section filling in as game time approached

there were available seats right up till one or two minutes before tipoff. The seats behind the band were available the longest
and probably could have taken more

If a student really wants to sit in the student section, they should just try to get there at a decent amount of time before the start.
The real question is, were there students who could not get in because of the football section ?

Good point. The students are still underwhelming in my opinion. You know how I know? They are not the focal point with respect to the crowd. They do nothing to make you turn your head. I don’t get it.

It wasn’t the FULL SECTION, it was tge lower third. MAYBE half. Students were behind them standing and cheering. Most recruits did nothing as usual.
When you are on an official visit as a recruit for one sport and are attending another sports game, you should always actively root for the home team.

They also chose a game over winter break when fewer students would likely be attending. Hopefully it limited the number of students who were stuck out in the cold.

I think the bitching you’re seeing is people pissed off at schiano for what he’s done . Until he wins, every move he makes will be criticized.
So Schiano brings a ton of recruits to a great B ball atmosphere to help bolster his roster over the next couple of years and you post that he should be criticized for it because he hasn’t won enough? Do see how dumb this sounds ? This should be in the “irony” thread. Can’t make up this type of stupid.

I didn’t post that nor did I criticize schiano . Maybe try to read what I post instead of reading on a 3rd grade level.

That’s a ridiculous thing to expect
Having been in this situation- both on OV's -being either at the football game or a basketball game- We always cheered on the home team that had us on an OV. Just kind of thought that is the right thing to do.

But as our son finally committed and was playing- it always grated my *** to see these recruits come in and sit with their asses on their hands. Even worse- many parents/family/friends of kids on the team continued to do the same f-ing thing even after here. Only time their groups would cheer if ONLY their son did something.

The picture provided by OP- obvious well before the game- did that section fill up with recruits and players or did it stay empty? I know when we were doing visits- your day is packed full and I believe both at RU and at GaTech- recruits and families didn't get to seats until just after tipoff

They came in right before the team hit the lay up line. It was full and the building was plenty loud enough.

Omg stfu with this complaint!!!
It doesn’t matter at all.
What are supposed to do, not show football recruits how crazy our student section is.
Seriously, stop with this complaint. It’s getting childish
Manufactured controversy = toxicity

the football section was pretty much full..... possibly some students might have snuck in the back of it, that I don't know

all I can tell you is that, if you showed up and wanted to sit in the student section, it could be done right up to tipoff

I doubt anyone was turned away..... if a student was turned away because the school thought their were the maximum amount of students in the building, they would be wrong
