I never said there were less cases. Perhaps I could have been clearer in my post, but I'll rephrase. Experts disagree about many things with this virus. One thing that they do not disagree on is this- that the virus is far more prevalent than reported. The question is, exactly how much more prevalent (five times as much, ten times as much, or more).
False. By "experts" do you mean what the msm is presenting on TV?

It’s insane to think that Covid cases rise BECAUSE of masks. Masks, properly worn, greatly reduce the risk of infection. It’s not rocket science. The infection spreads because people go to bars, tight quarters etc in spite of appeals to social distance and wear a mask.

BTW, I’m as pro business as anyone, am I voted for Trump, but there’s no law against being conservative and following medical guidelines whether it comes from Andy or The Surgeon General.

Just mask up and stop this **** in its tracks. Let’s get this economy rocking like it was before this Kung Flu AIDS happened.

https://www.samhealth.org/about-sam...ing-a-mask-prevents-the-spread-of-coronavirus

Masks are not effective. This whole thing is a big scam being used as cover for a communist take over attempt. Thinking this chart proves or establishes anything is laughable at best.

Coronabros have made their way into the thread.

live your life people

Im assuming you’re calling me a “coronabro”. Want to add anything on either side of the debate? The only thing I did was use the percentages and numbers the people above me used except with real factual numbers. I still never received an intelligent response using their own numbers.

And by the way, I am living my life. I also wear a mask. You CAN do both believe it or not. Unless of course you think a mask is infringing on our freedoms and contributing to communist taking over the United States. [roll][roll]

Masks don’t infringe on my freedom politicians who think they can tell me what I can and can’t do are the ones doing that.

So how do you feel about seatbelts?

Also, what are they telling you that you can and can’t do?
I feel like if someone wants to wear it they should. Do I always wear it? No.

I’m speaking specifically about mask “mandates”. You asked if I thought masks infringed on my liberty and I think that’s a retarded ******* question. An inanimate object obviously does not but politicians who think they are my baby sitter forcing businesses by threatening to pull their license if they don’t comply isn’t very American, imo

There are plenty of people on your side of the argument, like one right above your post, that think this is some big scam to help communism or whatever the hell and a bunch of other ignorant garbage. The absolute dumbest people in this argument are on your side of it. What you’ve said has been mild comparatively, but you’re still on the same side as a lot of fools.

Im pretty sure people on your side of the isle were the ones that had sided with business owners being able to deny service to people if they were gay because it was their religious right to do so, but now suddenly people are acting like idiotic brainless buffoons when now businesses are allowed to tell you to where a mask if you come in their business. Believe me, a lot of businesses WANT the mandate so they don’t have to get into fights with morons that come in saying they don’t have to wear one and how a business is infringing on their rights. There are TONS of these videos online, so feel free to look up some of the fools on your side of the argument. Now, do you have to wear a mask everywhere you go? No. Do you bro. But I’m allowed to say it’s ignorant because you think it doesn’t protect people while you’re possibly putting other people at risk. Seems like the people you side with also say all lives matter, yet they don’t act at all like that’s the case. If all lives matter, they’d care more about possibly unknowingly spreading it to sick on elderly people. Is it the Black Plague? No! It’s a virus and once there’s a vaccine, it’ll all be a lot better. Until then, playing it safe isn’t about anyone’s rights as an American. I can still by liquor from a liquor store, shop at the grocery, eat/drink at a restaurant and Plenty of other things. Nobody’s being oppressed here. Good grief.

I didn’t read your second paragraph so I’ll only address the first.

I have no side of the argument. My side is freedom and my stance on freedom is uniform across all aspects of life. I respect your right to your opinion just like I respect the rights of the people who think it’s a hoax. Viruses aren’t hoaxes but they aren’t reason to give up freedom either. I will continue to go about my days as I would regardless.

you and people like you like think you have the right to dictate how other people go about their day. That is something I won’t tolerate. We have the same rights no more no less than each other. People like you wouldn’t do good without governments faux protection

Yet I’ve specifically asked what freedom is being taken away from you and you still haven’t named one. It’s because your argument is complete garbage. Nobodies freedoms are being infringed upon.

Myself and people like myself do NOT dictate a damn thing about someone’s day. I think pot should be legal, guns should be able to be bought with some few restrictions. I don’t think a mask is unreasonable. Especially when it’s not for some unknown reason AND it’s very temporary. That’s all!

If you think rules are to dictate how people live, then you should be against the police, modern government and Law in general. Seatbelts are law, car insurance is law, hell, a license to fish is law. Are those freedoms that were taken away from you?

If I may interject, here's one freedom, among dozens of others, that was taken from me. The freedom to leave my freaking home for "non-essential" business. In Ohio, it was a misdemeanor of the second degree to do.

And that I can agree with you on. That’s why I’m asking as well, what rights were infringed upon? Anyhow, I think that was an overstep and was wrong. It was knee jerk reaction and went too far. So I agree with you there.

When you force someone to comply you take away their freedom to do so. That is with anything not just a mask mandate.

Let me help you out and put you out of your misery. The numbers YOU QUOTED said between 97% and 99.75%. When you’re talking about large numbers, like our population of roughly 330,000,000 people, that’s a difference of around 9,000,000 people. YOU then used the number 99.96%. That’s (.04% of the population vs the 3% that was on the low end of the range) 132,000 people of our population. So you left out the lower part of the estimated range to fit your agenda, skewed by the difference of 8,868,000 people. So YOU took one part of that quote and completely skewed it. Now you look like a fool.
Nope, hes still right, and you still look like a giant jackass.

Saying it doesn’t make it true sweetheart. Use numbers and prove him to be right then. Again, I know it’s tough for some thick headed uneducated people like yourself, but surely you can muster up an attempt, jackass.

I’ll give you extra bonus points if you can tell me what he’s specifically right about.

When you force someone to comply you take away their freedom to do so. That is with anything not just a mask mandate.

Well, I understand that. I just think masks are being blown up and then people say ignorant things like “masks don’t work anyway”. But, To your point, I get it. I just think they can mandate masks without it changing your freedom. And that’s why I mentioned seatbelts because nobody says they are infringing on our freedoms but it’s a similar rule, other than the fact not wearing one only puts yourself at more danger while masks help you and another person that might walk close by. But, to be fair, I get your point. We can respectfully disagree.

Things are only ignorant to you if you don't understand them. You clearly base your opinion off assumptions because the numbers show cases have done nothing but go up since the mandate.

Mask can work but they'll never work the way people think because 99% of people wearing them will never wear them properly. As it is they pose a bigger threat do to misuse than they help. When the mandate began people likened themselves wearing one as equal to that of a surgeon in a OR. That is the second reason mask pose a bigger threat than not wearing them. People now think they are invincible simply because they have a mask on and are ignoring the more important basic steps of social distancing and washing their hands.

Bottom line is that mask do nothing more than ease your mind which the government knew that would be all they would be good for and it gets folks like you off their back at the same time.

I’m not going to argue the effectiveness of masks. Wearing a mask obviously would lower the chances of you getting any virus.

We could mandate ourselves to a lot less deaths in this country in many areas

Seatbelts are federally regulated, have specifications and have ample empirical data to prove they save lives.

Do you think some *****'s t-shirt made into a mask is federally regulated, has a specification and is proven to save lives?

Originally, we weren’t simply arguing about masks. It turned to that of course, but the conversation began when ignorant numbers were being thrown around without any basis or proof. Then I came and showed why those numbers were 100% skewed and still haven’t seen anyone prove otherwise. Lastly, I never said anything about why numbers are or are not going up. You’re arguing whether they work, which is a different conversation. It’s also not going up because of masks. Come on man. So you’re saying they’d drop if no one wore a mask, cause that’s what it sounds like. There’s no way possible any research could prove that. And don’t say “they’d drop if they were worn properly”. That’s obvious, but you’re saying masks make it worse than it would be if people didn’t wear them.

Luckily, that’s already been talked about earlier and I don’t know how anyone could argue this post from earlier........

It’s insane to think that Covid cases rise BECAUSE of masks. Masks, properly worn, greatly reduce the risk of infection. It’s not rocket science. The infection spreads because people go to bars, tight quarters etc in spite of appeals to social distance and wear a mask.

You are basically saying this diagram is incorrect. The virus is spread by droplets. Pee is a droplet too. And no, cloth masks aren’t the best, but still better than nothing which a group of duke scientists said today. Some masks can carry more of the virus, which would make this specific ones not good, but masks in general ARE better than not.

Wait. You are you using pee as a reason to wear masks, Trav? Lol Pee particles are pretty large.

Should I show the meme of the a guy wearing underwear and pants and then him farting out of it and it still getting to other guy’s nose?

Fart particles are closer to size to China virus than pee particles

Again, more studies!!!! FROM SCIENTISTS AND DOCTORS!!!!

“ Of the 14 masks and other coverings tested, the study found that some easily accessible cotton cloth masks are about as effective as standard surgical masks, while popular alternatives such as neck gaiters made of thin, stretchy material may be worse than not wearing a mask at all.”

So again, “some cloth masks Are about as effective as surgical masks” and then one toy of masks is possibly worse. NOT ALL MASKS ARE WORSE. You all take exactly what you want from facts and run with it.

Not sure any proof I post will be taken seriously by someone who compares wearing jeans stopping pee from going onto another person as any proof. I have them, but I’m not sure your educational level can comprehend it.
