no mention of the O-line ? ... we were out manned both ways across the lines ... I questioned running right at them especially with Perkins ... however, I realize hind-sight is always 20-20 but I do agree about Dak ... should have introduced him much earlier than we did .... good thing is, there were few surprises ... we pretty much expected to loose but we also expected to go down fighting ... I think we take this as a good dose of medicine and use it to beat aTm & just maybe LSU

Great piece.

I really dont have much to add this week. So I will just include my thoughts for the week here.

I brought up our inability to get deep with our WR earlier this week. Definitely hurt us. It will continue to hurt us going forward. It forces us to be perfect on offense.

Cherrington is a clown. I have no idea why this continues. Quay might not know the playbook front to back, but that SOB knows how to get in the backfield and beat a block.

Our safeties took bad angles and our LBs couldnt do anything because our DL got abused so bad. Really shoddy coaching by the D-staff and I continue to be highly suspect of C. Wilson as DC material. Heck, even as DL coach material.

Tyler showed great poise and did all he could. As many have said, the interception was on Mullen. aGAIN, this offense is going to be scary when Dak is a junior.

Malcolm Johnson was severely underused. As was the HB screen, bubble-WR screen game.

RoJo is our best WR. He needs to replace either LDP or Tubby on KR too.

aGAIN, Nick Griffin still has something to show. As I feared, LDP was rendered ineffective against a quality SEC D. Bama does that to everyone, so you really cant be disappointed in him, but man, I would have liked to see some more of Griffin - plus some Dak/Griffin packages in short yardage.

Jameon continues to show why he cant be relied on with another fumble.

Special Team CONTINUES to be an achilles heel. Thanks Dan.

Now, that all sounds bad, and I get that it was an NFL team we are playing, but it still doesnt excuse us getting rocked like that. I still think we have a chance at a great season, but unless we make some personnel adjustments at DL (more PJ and Quay) and WR/TE (more RoJo and MJ), we will have a tough time beating EVERY team left on the schedule. Notice, I am not saying it can't be done, but at this point I am HOPING for 2-2 the rest of the way. IF we make some adjustments and improve, 3-1 is certainly a possibility.

The offense should bounce back nicely this week, but I am scared to death of Johnny Football vs. our D.

You and me both

We would have a hard time sacking a statue much less Johnny Football with all that running around he does. I expect a shootout next week.

And I for the life of me can not understand why Jameon is allowed to keep returning kicks when he fumbles as much as he does. Put Bumphis back there if we have to.

Cherrington is a walk-on and the only reps he should be getting are in goal line or obvious running situations. We play him way too much and it's not fair to him to ask him to do something he can not do- nor is it fair to the players that can actually help us.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that has doubts about Chris Wilson. His game planning sucks in general.

I want to know what happened to Cam Lawrence's clairvoyance...

..#10 is supposed to see plays happen before they happen. I wonder where all that went. He's going to need to do a lot of mind-reading against Johnny Football. I hope the burial indians return his sacred gift before next Sat.

I can't violently agree more with #2. Was thinking the same thing last night--it totally changed the complexion of the game.

I said the same thing about Nick Griffen in the chat room last night and I got drilled for it. I still stand by it. Perkins needs a hole to run the ball, Nick makes one. That's a big difference in a game like last nights game.

I also agree on Dak. Why in the hell didnt we use him in 3rd and 5 or better? We've been doing it all season. Why didnt we use him on the goal line? WTH? Im still scratching my head. And please dont give me that ******** about Mullen wanting Russell to get the TD since he drove the offense all the way down the field. In a game like this, points are points. 17 that.

Amen. Quay, while far from perfect, gets consistent pressure up the middle. If I remember correctly, he blew up Bama's LG on one play. He needs to play much, much more. I thought P.J. played a lot. He isn't really a run stopper.

Eulls needs to justify his existence. He hasn't made a tackle for loss since he disarmed that girl in high school. Preston Smith is our best pass rushing DE. He needs to play more.

The emergence of RoJo is the one positive from the game. He has done something with the ball every time he touches it. He's big. He breaks tackles. He needs to play more.

I know he has been hurt and is only a freshman, but Jiles can't be much worse than Love, right? I think Love has been burned every time the ball has come his way.

Our OL had surpassed expectations up until that game, but they got owned last night. The Aggies have a good pass rush, and they will kill Russell if they don't step it up this weekend. They also have what may be the second best OL will see this year, so I expect Johnny Football to put up video game numbers against us.

You can't stretch the field when you don't have time to barely get into a 3 step drop. Once Siddoway got hurt & Damien came in that DL was salivating! He's as slow off of the blocks it's pitiful then after your beat you have 2 choices hold or cut his damn inside thigh to bits! He didn't even open his hips until it was too late. Then Siddoway comes back (i breathe easy as does Damien) then Clausell goes down and that OLB gets a shot at blowing him up. The OLB goes inside Gabe and Damien is STILL waiting on somebody to block as Tyler gets hammered AGAIN! Thank God the almighty that both OT's came back otherwise they may have had to roll Tyler out on a gurney. But my point was that its difficult to throw deep when you have that kind of pressure.

Given that we have no deep threat, why not try SLAy or BANKS for a couple

of deep throws a game?

Oh we've tried... only problem is its usually to heavens or clark. Two 5'10" 180lbs guys who cannot outrun anyone. Or the WR has dropped it (rojo, morrow @ Troy)

Was wondering the other day what if o'neal wilder had stuck with football...
