And Alabama plays a terrible game and we play the game of a lifetime and beat them in Tuscaloosa. How far up in the rankings do we climb? How far do they fall?

If we pulled off this massive upset, Bama would fall out of the top 10. We would probably be in the "others receiving votes" category. The sad irony is that there is a good chance that Louisville would take over the number 1 spot, if we shock the world Saturday.

I'd say a lot of our basketball fans will be on suicide watch. Of course I'll be happy to assist that special segment of our "fan"base with the follow-through if need be.

You kidding me? Do you actually believe there are Kentucky basketball fans that would be upset if the Kentucky football team beat Alabama? What planet do you live on?

Actually I KNOW several fans like that on this site , Alabama Scout site and Facebook. Think Tennessee in the 1990s.

Earth.

I'd say you're talking about an incredibly small minority. Most of us love and support the basketball and football programs. Not sure why you'd even bring that small minority up, to be honest.

Honestly I'd like to think it's a small minority but for some reason when that segment of fans is vocal--it's like nails on a cheese grater.

Damn dude I don't know. The title of the thread is "what if the unthinkable happens". I cited one thing that came to mind.

Here...I'll change my answer to: UK fans will revel in the streets. Done

Oh and FTR, Drake is a bandwagoning turd

Sorry, I just take it a little personal when some posters pull the stuff about UK fans only supporting the basketball team.
If they are basketball only, they are probably not reading football boards or posts.

I remember the last time we beat Alabama, and it was a great feeling. I'm realistic though, and realize if the unthinkable happened and we somehow upset them, it would be one of the biggest upsets of the decade, hell, maybe the century.

I know a great deal of Kentucky basketball fans that are bigger fans of Alabama football than Kentucky football. I would venture to say even the majority of fans I know fit this mode.

Hell I hate it to, but we have a large fan base and some will wear Royal Blue and Crimson. Crimson especially if Bama is poised to win an MNC. They'll go to any length to cheer on whatever team to a NC. IDK why in the hell there are fans like that, but they can all self-anal and combust.

I used to want Alabama to win sometimes. Especially, when they played Tennessee or Ohio State or Notre Dame. That was because of Bear Bryant. Since so many people now want to say Saban is better than Bryant, I pull against them, because they are coming in our state and taking our most needed recruits.

They drop to 13th. We move into "others receiving votes." Stoops gets a short-term reprieve pending the outcome of the season as a whole. If we go onto win 6+, he is the HC who hung in there and saw tough times through....Bama is truly a signature win. If we collapse in the second half of the season and win five or less, the big win will be only a bright spot in another disappointing season.

GBB!

There are other teams I'll watch from time to time-but all the SEC teams NOT named Kentucky can get pumped ;)

So beating #1 Bama wouldn't raise your spirits, tough crowd.
