Next year y'all get a shot at that opportunity, it'll be very interesting.Would love to see Tarboro get to play an SMC team. Y’all might woulp us but I would love to see what all the hype is about.
Duff is not coaching the line in Tarboro, that is Steve Burnette. Burnette is a great coach whose players will run through a brick wall for him and he is a character!! Duff coaches tight ends and helps out with the linebackers.Tarboro received a gift when Cobb left SWE. Eric Duff, SWE's line coach joined the staff at THS. Eric is a damn great line coach. You will see great line play with him there, especially on offense. Even when the "talent" is down. He knows his ****, and running the power tee is right up his alley coming from a wishbone/wishbone veer background. Hopefully he gets copies of the playbooks and brings them back to 43 highway real soon, but I digress.
Why did coach duff leave curiously? I've known him my whole life just about. He graduated with my mom in 93. I know he lived and breathed SouthWest Edgecombe football so to see him leave was very surprising.Tarboro received a gift when Cobb left SWE. Eric Duff, SWE's line coach joined the staff at THS. The number of titles the SMC has won speaks for itself. I would say its a tough league to play in. My understanding is that Tarboro's talent will be down some from where it was the last five years. The next couple of years they will be quite young. On the plus side they have a outstanding coaching staff that can get a lot out of the players. I'm not sure we will be ready for a tough SMC team . lolNot so fast lol...not saying anyone from the SMC would beat Tarboro. Just pointing out that the SMC is a tough league to play in. The number of 1a championships won by the league over the years backs that up. But Tarboro is on a different level completely. Y’all may have 1a or 1aa numbers now, but the quality of your football team looks as good as ever to me.
Hahaha if that’s the best bluff you got please stay out of poker games. Just friendly advice. The number of titles the SMC has won speaks for itself. I would say its a tough league to play in. He’s not really bluffing. Our JV team went 1-3 this year.Hahaha if that’s the best bluff you got please stay out of poker games. Just friendly advice.
Are your jv's typically as dominant as your varsity? He’s not really bluffing. Our JV team went 1-3 this year.
I think next years team will have a shot. They went 6-1 on JV last year and were missing a couple of key players who were playing on varsity as sophomores I believe.Yea, our jv team lost to rosewood. Our numbers have taken a huge hit. We’ve had some very dominant teams the last 4 or 5 years, so expect another drop off next year.
we went to five straight from 08-12, then dropped off for three years. I’ve said somewhere else, if we are going to get another title in the foreseeable future, it has to be this year, or it could be a while before we are back
Yes that is normally the case. Are your jv's typically as dominant as your varsity?
I think Mitchell gave East surry their closest game all year last year. Robbinsville just beat us this year. I promise football in the west is way tougher. Look at the 1aa and 1a championship games last year. If it wasn’t for tarboro the East wouldn’t win any championships unless wrh came back down to 1aa. Name one other 1a or 1aa team in the East that could beat Mitchell, robbinsville, Murphy, or East surry.
I think we go to states next year but after that we might have a dry spell similar to 2013-2015. Which even most programs would take those years lol.I think next years team will have a shot. We watched East surry beat tarboro easily last year. We will see this year. Robbinsville demolished the team they played. In 1a 15 Plymouth is the last eastern team to win. I don’t know about Princeton and Holmes because tarboro beats them handily every year. From top to bottom the west is tougher to get through. Tarboro is a beast. Wrh was a beast. The other teams I don’t think could finish 3rd in smc or western highlands conference just my opinion.I think Holmes and Princeton coukd give those teams all they wanted, and then some
I haven't seen him to ask, so I could only speculate, but if I had to guess, it would be something along the nature of football is not girls basketball if you catch my drift."He graduated with my mom". You making me feel old young blood, I graduated in 94, so I know we probably knew each other. Why did coach duff leave curiously? I've known him my whole life just about. I heard something along those same lines. The previous football staff wasn’t happy with the AD who happens to be the girls basketball coach.I haven't seen him to ask, so I could only speculate, but if I had to guess, it would be something along the nature of football is not girls basketball if you catch my drift."He graduated with my mom". Here's a fine example. I helped coach the wrestling team there years ago. If there was a basketball ball game on Friday night and we had a tourney or duel match on Saturday. The wrestling team would have to clean the gym after the games, set up for our event, and clean the gym after our event was done. If we were wrestling away that Saturday, a clean up crew was there to clean up after the games on Fridays. We inquired about how much was paid to clean the gym, and offered to do it for a much better deal, to raise money for wrestling camp in the summer but we're told no, we can't do that. We also made the same offer to clean trash up on the Saturdays after home football games, but were rejected. We pretty much were told, take it or leave it. Things like this keeps pissing everyone off. They wouldn't build us a small building or anything to practice in. We litterly had to move half the lunch room tables and put our mats down on the nasty *** lunch room floor, practice and then put the tables back. Insane. The first year or two the program was added, I get it, but not when they're dumping tens of thousands into a new gym floor every 5-10 years. I do know they wanted a field house for the football team, my guess is this basketball coach had to have something new every year that was more important. Any way, enough of highjacking this thread. TARBORO WILL PUT A BEAT DOWN ON LOUISBURG.I heard something along those same lines. The previous football staff wasn’t happy with the AD who happens to be the girls basketball coach.
