Not disputing that bc I define being the best as beating the best as Tarboro was unsuccessful in that regard when it came to WRH however keep in mind that Tarboro would again be playing WRH next week should they have been still in the 1AA. Wallace still the king of the 1AA unless a team surpasses that record and also keep in mind Wallace Rose Hill has to win 3 2A state titles and go 5 years in a row then head up to 3A and grab a state title there. My point is WRH has big shoes to fill in 2A and Tarboro has big shoes to fill In 1AA
WRH is the shoe. There are several shoes. Tarboro is a shoe. We ain't got to prove to anyone. I don't buy into beating higher levels. You can only play who you play and that is your history, legacy, tradition. WRH doesn't have to play the NE patriots.

Wallace Rose Hill- 6 State Championships
Tarboro- 4 State Championships

Tarboro and Wallace are two elite programs. A Championship is a championship - no matter what level you play at.

dude WRH played 1AA with 200 too many kids for two years before realignment, they never should have been in 1AA, but i played against em,they were the real deal, they are in 2a now so no they aren't the 1aa kings.
You've exaggerated a little

no not really
WRH has never been 200 students over 1aa. They currently are on of the smallest 2a schools in the state. We have grown our adm from 514 in 2009 to 674 this year. Maybe NCHSAA needs to change every year. Whatever!

Kind of funny that this has devolved into the legitimacy of WRH. As a Tarboro fan, I can tell you that team is, has been and likely will be legit at any level they are locked into. The difference in 2A and 1AA in the east is tremendous. There are a ton of mediocre and just bad 1A teams in the east. The 2A depth is so much better. I miss the regular season. I liked when there were challenges during the year. It doesn’t matter to me that the Vikings haven’t won a 1-AA. I feel Tarboro would be in the thick of the playoffs if we were still 2A. It just feels like we have been playing practice games for months knowing we would play Edenton in the Eastern final. Last year, the assumption was WRH vs Tarboro in the Eastern final. The previous years, we knew the goal was Tarboro vs. Duplin County. The depth of play in 1A may be better out west, but if you notice Thomasville’s move up to 2A has not translated to the kind of success that WRH is demonstrating in 2A this season. If the cream always rises to the top, then WRH was the cherry on top of 1A because they always played at a level higher than the cream of the crop in 1A. The Dogs had many “two-game” seasons and I hope they are enjoying playing against teams more suited for their skills this season.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Our Edenton Aces have played at least 10 out of 13 games this year with a running clock. In several games, the running clock started in the 2ndQ. We would have had more shutouts, but coach Hoggard put reserves in to start the 4thQ and opponents scored on our JV players. That includes Plymouth. The only team that put up any real fight against us was Northeastern. I hope the 1A teams in our conference (Plymouth, Camden, Gates, Manteo, Perquimans) will improve so that we’ll be better prepared for the playoffs. Thankfully, coaches Hoggard and Craddock have excelled in keeping their teams focused and ready to face each other this Friday night. I’m looking forward to a very competitive game with the stands packed on both sides!

Lol, Man you obviously have no idea what your talking about. Wallace-Rose Hill is about 35 students from being 1AA right now. How do you get 200. Lol.
