I hope that isn't a sign that Deshea didn't take it, so we offered Joseph, so Nebraska did what they had to do to keep him? I'm probably reading too much into it...but Joseph was probably our #2 choice.

My buddy just called and said Rosebowl is now saying Townsend is flying back to Arizona to discuss with his family....decision tonight or in the morning.

Joseph went from $230K to $245K, pretty similar percentages to the rest of the staff. Exception: the OC (28th TO) went from $365K to $700K. Total: $2.64m (from $2.13m) Article.

So his wife is not from MS? Why didn't we fly his whole family home? You would think in this case he is from Batesville fly his whole family here and make it like a huge reunion.

Usually not a good sign for ms state when somebody has to go home and think about it. I'm remaining cautiously optimistic. Badly want this hire to happen

would have thought he would have conferred with family on willingness to move back to MS before even bothering to interview. I'm thinking probably 50/50 at this point.

Maybe his wife has to work and/or kids are in school. We might not have offered to fly his whole family either..

Married with three young kids. I can see him not wanting to uproot them from their situation without at least discussing it with the ball and chain first.

He got a call from his wife last night saying he needed to come home immediately. There were over 50 letters addressed to him in their mailbox yesterday from "The University of Ole Miss Athletic Department."

He wasn't going to but his daughter told him he should. She forever changed Mississippi State football.

Without her, we would have got stuck with Muschamp or Fisher.

crazy happens like his wife kicks his *** or he goes into the tire biddness.
