should never play again and be prosecuted and if a coach ordered he should be banned and prosecuted as well. there must be an example made of this

Having lived in San Antonio, having seen John Jay play this doesn't surprise me. I'll leave it at that.

That's uncalled for but I've seen the flip side of this where officials purposely obstruct a team during play execution and eventually got shoved during a pass play defense was in pursuit.

I havent seen a referee assault a player unless getting in the way is assault.
This was very criminal using what could be considered a deadly weapon from the second player.

Sounds like you are justifying this action Chopper. If not what is the penalty?

Officials sometimes get in the way...being on the field it's going to happen sooner or later. But "purposely" obstruct a team? Get real. I bet you believe the scene where the officials took a bribe in "Remember the Titans" actually happened.

This happened because of the culture of football. I would guarantee that someone somewhere is telling these kids they did the right thing and that society or the ref is the blame. We have let society get out of hand. We need to get back to the basics, the same our founding fathers had. I would like to see public hangings, firing squads, and gallows brought back for our criminals.

Yes this is extreme for kids taking out a ref, but peanuts feed elephants. If we let stuff like this go it will turn into the Furgesons, Baltimores, and worse. If this kids see that there are equal reactions for there actions they would not do this.

Seems two players on the offending team were ejected from the game and this was retaliation.

If a 50 year old man is walking down the street, one guy tackles him and another stomps him what does the police do? They change both with assault and battery. This is the same.

Ok, it looks like the kids are saying he was tossing out the n word after ejecting several other players.

Is it true the ref has lost his job as well as the kids bing expelled?

Was reading post from people living in the area and parents of players.

If u can't speculate and spread rumors on the Internet where can u?

One thing I know for a fact is that this will only get worse from here.

Let me ask this, if it was a prominent white school and a black ref then th kids would have been expelled that night, coaches fired, principle would have to resign, parents would have had there houses burned, stores would have been looted, Sharpton and Oboma would have said they treated my son the same way.

Words are words! If the ref was using the N word then fire him. But Webster defines the N word as a ignorant person. The two teens were in fact acting ignorant!

Don't think anyone disagrees with you. I would add that it is possible for both sides to be wrong in any given circumstance.

He could be totally in the right here and nothing will excuse their actions either way.

But I do believe our justice system recognizes aggravating and mitigating circumstances in the commission of crime.

2 wrongs do not make a right! I don't think any war has been started over words. I am not defending the ref in any way shape or form just looking at the video.

For example, I teach my kids if other say words to them that they are words but if they lay there hands on you to beat them until they cannot breath!

We teach ppl to get upset over words? Really?

Your last sentence was what I was questioning, we are sorry as a society when we start punishing words. If I go into a weight watchers and call of them fat and they get upset is that my fault for explaining the truth? If they stomp me to death with there fat feet how is that my fault?

Life must be miserable grinding the beaks off chickens in those 480' buildings. Planned Parenthood missed a great opportunity.

Why the heck would a ref ever say that during a game? I'm calling BS on that one! Sounds like the kids are trying to do whatever they can to get people to sympathize on their side why they did something so incredibly stupid. When in doubt play the race card!

Just wants to start whats rather false and deal todays popular card. Yet no proof!

I'm willing to concede the possibility that the man may have said something he should not have. I don't know that he did. But I don't know that he didn't. There usually are two sides to every story. As it is, I accuse him of nothing.

Even if he did, to hit a defenseless human in this way is so cowardly and wrong. Honor and respect mean nothing these days. I DID see them do this, so they ARE guilty.

Why do they need an investigation? Just ask the players if any coach encouraged them to act stupidly. Their act of hitting him in the back was cowardly and unjustified, regardless of what anyone alleges that he said. And, anyone who alleges racial elements should post a reference or not post it at all.Just kick'em off the team for ever and charge'em in court if the law can prove intent, which looks obvious to me. The school admin just needs to act like adults, take action and get it over with.

It sounds like now they are changing their tune and saying the kids did it because the ref made some bad calls against their team. The day before they were saying they did it because he used the n word. If I was the ref, I would get a lawyer and sue the pants off of everyone that inferred that I said something that I didn't and slandered me.
