Yeah, he needs to expound

......I am going with. He would like to live in a town where the ladies always have a pineapple in the shopping cart and play for State.

Maybe he WILL move there and become a dancing bear rather than a dancing bulldog.

Perkins should know better than to post **** like that. Coaches aren't going to

be happy with him at all once they see it.

clearly, everyone wants to be a part of the booming metropolis that is oxford, ms. if LP makes it there, the population will swell to 19,394. with those kind of numbers, i just dont see how they could keep out another mcdonalds.

What I want to know, and I'm serious, If Oxford is this booming metropolis that is so badass, why can't they do a damn thing of note in football?

If we can somehow get Boobi to show LaDarius the back door into Cowbells, it would probably change his opinion of Starkville**

Sounds to me like Perkins has owned Ole Miss two out of the last 3 seasons, and now he has moved on to 17ing their women as well. Therefore, he wishes he could be closer to Nkemdiche's girlfriend that he is 17ing, but wants to keep owning them every 3 of 4 years on the field.

Just what I took from the comment*

Oxford has higher property values, lower crime rates, and better performing

schools than Starkville. You can argue the merits of the music, food, and arts scene because maybe you're not into those things and it's subjective. But the first three things I named cannot be argued, no matter how much you wish it was not true.

It really can't be argued at all. I'm a life long State fan. I love State and Starkville, but Oxford is the more desirable city. Especially for someone between 18-25.

Just because something is necessarily true doesn't mean you want your starting RB to post it on twitter.

Is your point that everything is underwhelming relative to something greater than it? No ****, but that isn't the language game he was playing.

Although your first three cannot be argued, I am damn near certain that Perkins had considered none of them.

If raising a family, Oxford is the better city. You won't get an argument from me.

I agree. Perkins doesn't give a crap about any of that.

And I certainly wouldn't want an Ole Miss player tweeting what Perkins did, either. I've had many fun nights in Starkville and have many great friends and family members that went to State.

However, the constant pouting and wailing whenever a national publication writes something positive about Oxford is just silly. The fact is that Oxford IS unique among most Mississippi towns. Some of it is just plain luck (like William Faulkner living here), and some of it has been cultivated (the Town and Gown relationship and arts scene).

I'm not sure higher property values make for a better location. Perhaps higher property values show more demand for or less supply of property, but all else being equal, I would think lower property values would make an area more attractive.

Both Starkville and Oxford have fairly low crime rates, which appear to be fairly comparable over the last few years, with Starkville being slightly higher, but not significantly so.

I have no knowledge about the quality of schools in either place.

All that said, I have not really spent much time in Oxford, so I don't really know enough about it to have a strong opinion. I do know a lot of people like it, and it seems like a nice enough place. However, Starkville appears to be fairly comparable to Oxford in a lot of ways and, while I think 20+ years ago Oxford probably was nicer than Starkville, that doesn't seem to be the case any more because Starkville has improved significantly over the past 15 years.

Hell, I like Oxford too. Does that make me a bad bulldog?

Also, liking Oxford does not mean you hate Starkville. Some folks, like myself, think both places are great. If if I preferred Oxford over Starkville, that doesn't mean "Oxford = heaven, Starkville = **** hole" that trolls, **** talkers, and overreacting 17s have to turn it into.

It really is a senseless argument. My daughter who is State bound in a month

visited Ole Miss and The Square a couple of weeks ago with her friend who is going to Ole Miss.
I asked her how it went and she said she was very underwhelmed with both after hearing all the
hype for so long. She thinks MSU campus is much nicer and she gave Oxford a slight edge but said
she just feels more at home in Starkville than Oxford. That about sums it up, it is in the eyes of the
beholder.

Marshall Henderson, a much more nationally known athlete, tweets #hailstate half a dozen times during the College World Series and nobody cares.

But when Perkins makes a statement about liking his current school but liking his rival's town, things get crazy. He said nothing about Ole Miss, he just mentioned Oxford.

Exactly. The difference, OM sweeps comments like Marshall's under the rug, while MSU fans post comments like Ladarrius's on the front page of every message board. Own worst enemy.

My bad I forgot not to post anything that could be perceived as negative on SPS, Gene.

Next time I'll try to contact LaDarius and tell him to delete the tweet to help with the rug sweeping.
