Absolutely horrible. The guys feet were not even close to being set. How ridiculous to miss a call that badly in that situation.

Doesn't matter if your shuffling your feet if you're not moving. He was all but still and, as you said, Moultrie lowered the boom.

you dont try to @%+*%#% score right there. you hold the @%+*%#% ball. You know, like when you are up by 5 and there's 5 minutes left and you are trying to run out the clock.

Anyway, there was no reason for moultrie to be going to the basket right there. None at all.

That's the principle of "straight up-and-down" As long as you don't move and stay verticle, you can draw a charge.

Moultrie was still turned trying to catch the ball. He did not lower his shoulder. His was bent over trying to catch the ball but he did not lower his shoulder in an attempt to run over the guy.

But you know what........17n it. It doesn't matter.

with 31 seconds on the shot clock, we'd have been able to shoot, and leave them only 5 seconds.

Instead, the Einstein of basketball runs a play to score with 28 seconds, we dont score, our best player gets hurt, and they get the last shot.

It literally staggers the imagination how 17ing dumb that is.

(stans is known for his four corners offense when it ISNT appropriate. This time it was and we couldnt have 17ed it up more)

No, he wasn't. He was justmoving towards the baseline to receive the pass. The defender was still moving into Moultrie's path at the moment of impact. Bad call.

But that is a charge call 8 or 9 times out of 10. Refs have always allowed slight movement on charge calls.

Looked more like a block than a charge, since both player were still ovbiously moving and the offensive player has the apparent right of way? I'm just looking at it from a basketball rules point of view. Ive see more of those situations go way of block than charge in my day of watching bball games.

It really shouldn't have even come to that play. All moot point. Maybe this will finally be the straw that breaks the Bury Camp's back.

You are correct. But, I've seen that play called a charge for so long now and I agree with it. The defender was barely moving and Moultriebarreled in totally out of control. Just like walking in basketball or the strike zone in baseball, the rules are fluid. <div>
</div><div>That's my view anyway. As you said, it's moot. We suck and I honestly hope that Stans is let go sooner rather than later. It's not like he's been bad for the university as a whole or anything, but he clearly is not going to progress the program.</div>

When they showed the replay, all of the LSU fans around me laughed, thinking they'd gotten away with one.

Stans coached with a lot of passion tonight. I was five rows up and could hear him all game, due in part to a less than half full arena. In my opinion, tonight wasn't about the decisions he made in-game. Most of our undoing was turnovers and defense. That all goes back to practice. We aren't getting better in between games, and THAT you can pin on our head coach. We aren't prepared enough to execute the adjustments we make during the game. It's as simple as that. We also don't have a floor general. Dee is talented, but we're rarely communicating as much as we should be.

That was a really tough game to attend.

I usually watch parts of games throughout the week and have notices some 17ing horrible officiating this year. Is it that hard to find an official who knows the rules, has decent vision, and the knack for being in the correct position? Some of the stuff is obvious even to the viewing impaired, yet the official 47 inches away cannot seem to get the call correct. What the 17 is going on?

Disclaimer: Kentucky getsbenefit of every call no matter how obvious the foul or non foul is. That's written in stone somewhere in Slive's office. Probably in the same safe as the Cam Newton solicitation tapes.**
