That drive before halftime sums up the coaching

Flood is a dud...he is not mean for this level

Played for a fg

wasted an incredible amount of time

no sense of urgency

then on 4th call a play that wouldn't even get the first

embarrassing..this staff IS OVER ITS HEAD...continually not pushing the right buttons on the field

Floods entire existence was summed up in the final drive of the first half. No urgency, no clock management and some of the worst playcalling I have ever seen. I do not see what people see in this buffoon. He has little to no redeeming qualities as a coach

The last 2 minutes of the first half explains it all. We get nothing after great field position and they come down and get 3.

That was one of the worst drives I've ever seen.

Announcers: RU has to keep moving the ball. They need to get six here, a field goal won't help them.

3rd down play: a weak run that fails to go anywhere

Announcers: looks like they're playing for the field goal

RU timeout

4th down -- bad pass that falls incomplete

That drive is Flood's resume in recap. He should never have been a contender for the job much less named Coach

Just wait, by the fourth quarter the run game will have finally worn down the Badgers D enough for us to score.

As soon as we went for it on fourth down, I said to myself, "Wisconsin is going to get a touchdown out of this," despite there being 50 seconds left, or whatever. I was wrong, they only got three, but that's ONLY because they came up a little short on the clock.

Did anyone actually doubt that they were going to get points right there?

second half is Wisconsin minus 7.
a lot of RU fans are jumping all over that and they aren't taking Rutgers.
thats all you need to know.

Now I kind of wish we lost the IU game, I just do not see this admin looking for a new coach....I feel bad for the players because we have the talent

Every week I have hope, and that hope is gone by halftime. Feel bad for Rettig wasting away on the bench so Lavianova can "learn." At this point, we need a new HC even if it means sacrificing our recruiting class but it needed to get done like yesterday. What will it take...jeez! Can't watch Fudd turn my team into Rutgers High School anymore.

HS coaches and recruits saw Flood's coaching deficiencies long before the fans did, now do you understand why they're leaving the state in droves?

It still makes me laugh/cringe when people said they'd take Flood's under the radar recruits over top recruits that leave the state...be careful what you wish for, Flood's bad recruiting and coaching gets you what we're getting today. Thank you.

I really see nothing wrong with running it on 3rd and 5 when clearly Flood decided he was going for it on 4th down. Still, poor call not running a route to the the sticks on 4th, but a particular had throw by Laviano as well not reading the coverage right, and leading his receiver into traffic. Guy clearly sat down in the space in the zone where a throw on his back shoulder gives him a chance to take a step upfield and fall forward.

Just terrible execution all the way around. Another sad performance.

Guaranteed Laviano will get the entire third quarter for more 'learning' - and a healthy portion of the 4th ...

TP hired the guy to keep a recruiting class together. That and the fact that signing day is not the time to start a coaching search.

I hate to ask this question because I don't personally blame JH, but even though Flood was TP's hire does retaining Flood tarnish JH's legacy as AD even if she's strong armed by Barchi?

she is going to have to secure the funds...I can only fault her so much but if Flood is not gone this year, she is going to take some heat for this

I don't think the money was there for a change. At this point it's absolutely necessary, and if she was given a million to go out and get Eddie Jordan, I have to believe they won't go on the cheap for football

She didn't hire EJ, the interim AD Kirschner did. I've always said if/when we make a move we'd pay 1.5-2.5M so I'm okay with that.

That's right. I was thinking the timing was a little off for it to have been jh.
