I heard the fake thing from one of the guys in our old tailgate group

At the time it sounded good (a few beers in and the steaks smelling good on the grill) but when i actually thought about it, why would we turn down the Acc invite not knowing we were eventually getting into the B1G and at the time, stuck in the Big East?
it was peddled here by a guy whose wife worked in the office. the more that came out, it became apparent it was the furthest thing from the truth. I went against the old owner and most the board on that one. absolutely dumb and attention seeking on their part

lol you don't actually believe that bs peddled by nuts and his cronies do you? That is one of the dumber things ever postulated on this board
I’ve never heard Nuts or anyone on this board say it. What I have heard is from people directly involved.

short memory for you I suppose. Before we had the BIG invite, ACC was all the rage with quite a bit.

ACC never invited us and we were never on their radar. This has been validated by media stories after the fact

none of it matters, thank God we're in the BIG and now, we need to win and build into a power because after the expansion we'll get some dead weight cuts. Now I firmly believe we are more valuable than Purdue, Indiana, Nebraska, and more but we need to leave nothing to chance. We're the only major program that can claim two of the biggest markets but we need better on field production

I can tell you that’s just not true. Considering I have the mobile numbers of our last two ADs, I’m very comfortable with the level of communication and what information I get from people in the dept.

It was always the Big Ten though.

End of year, bring an AAC school to the B1G. Promote one Big12 school to the SEC.

Relegation means one B1G and one SEC team go down.

I like Florida State, and always did back in my ACC days. I've never liked a coach more than Leonard Hamilton -- that guy took a lot of crap, but his teams were tough and successful, and he always acted like he'd "been there."

Maybe it's because of my personality, but I'd rather see a "state school" type program like Florida State (or NC State, or Virginia Tech) than either North Carolina or Virginia join up...
Love me some Ham but he needs to learn how to use the portal

The 2020 team was stacked and was prime for a final 4 run, if not a natty

Still chaps my *** things got cancelled, but at least the hung the banner commentating that team

We felt the same way about our Maryland team that year. And for the 6th or 7th year in a row, the best Terrapin left early to turn pro after that season..
