What if we hire Tony White? That would be the funniest thing ever.
Last year he said he couldn't coach up the young DB's because he had to pour into the starters. Then after getting promoted he goes on about how his strength is outsmarting other coaches. Glad he's gone.
I don't wish for the turmoil that it brings when coaches get fired, I'm not sad. Gotta knock this hire out of the park. Interested to see who is next on the chopping block.
Hopefully today is about defense and tomorrow is about offense. Donavan has got to be the next one to get his pink slip

I wouldn't mind seeing Holgorsen go. That would have sounded ridiculous last year, but he has been a disappointment this year.

The question is did the AD put pressure on MR on his own or at the suggestion/demand of boosters?
Then the obvious question, can he hire someone decent if there's the vibe that the HC himself is on thin ice?

Bo Pelini was a very good defensive coach. Did a great job down in LSU.

His first stint at LSU was good. His 2nd stint there was atrocious and he got fired after one year, it was so bad that he hasn't gotten hired to coach football anywhere in the 5 years since then.
I have been hugely disappointed too with Dana, but with the rumors that he’s be forced to incorporate some of Satts ********, I will at least give him a tiny bit of leniency. I mean, what we run now doesn’t look like what DH has run the prior 15 years so there could be some truth to the rumor. If so, Rhule should STFU and let the OC do what they want, however they want to move the ball is on them.
But really, we should pay what it takes to get the Notre Dame OC in here. He knows how to run the ball

First thought was Wilcox as well. Not sure you need to overpay him as he’s sitting on buyout funds. It would be a chance to get back to the B1G as a DC.

The thing is, no big-time DC is going to come in if his staff is entirely made up of holdovers.

Offense is also a problem, but that's mostly on the OL. When Dana has to scheme around having 8 people to protect the QB due to Raiola's ineffective OL it leaves the playbook pretty limited.
Correct. How often did we just scheme up somebody wide open for an easy tuddy? Not often.
We were in the 50s in yards allowed per play, so don't be fooled by the total yardage allowed stat that is drug down by fewer plays per game in the big ten.
