Last year he said he couldn't coach up the young DB's because he had to pour into the starters. Then after getting promoted he goes on about how his strength is outsmarting other coaches. Glad he's gone.

I actually think Jim Leonard could be a real possibility here.
I know you're being sarcastic, but the minute assts start getting canned...you know the HC is feeling pressure and needs a scapegoat(s).

The question is did the AD put pressure on MR on his own or at the suggestion/demand of boosters?
Then the obvious question, can he hire someone decent if there's the vibe that the HC himself is on thin ice?
I'm sure coaches don't like upsetting their family lives(kids in school) for a 1-2 year gig?

I wouldn't mind seeing Holgorsen go. That would have sounded ridiculous last year, but he has been a disappointment this year.
I have been hugely disappointed too with Dana, but with the rumors that he’s be forced to incorporate some of Satts ********, I will at least give him a tiny bit of leniency. I mean, what we run now doesn’t look like what DH has run the prior 15 years so there could be some truth to the rumor. If so, Rhule should STFU and let the OC do what they want, however they want to move the ball is on them.
But really, we should pay what it takes to get the Notre Dame OC in here. He knows how to run the ball

A serious program would throw a bag at Stoops, Durkin, or Wilcox. But I fully expect Rhule to hire Phil Snow.
First thought was Wilcox as well. Not sure you need to overpay him as he’s sitting on buyout funds. It would be a chance to get back to the B1G as a DC.

Offense national rank - 79th.
Defense national rank - 23rd.

The star players are all on the offense - Raiola and Johnson (arguably the most talented in each position in a decade). Star players on the defense? Both lines were weak.

Was the wrong coordinator fired?

Defensive ranking is overinflated because teams didn't need to pass on us to win.

We finished 111th in yards per carry on defense.

Offense is also a problem, but that's mostly on the OL. When Dana has to scheme around having 8 people to protect the QB due to Raiola's ineffective OL it leaves the playbook pretty limited.

We were in the 50s in yards allowed per play, so don't be fooled by the total yardage allowed stat that is drug down by fewer plays per game in the big ten.

I’m not being that sarcastic. HCMR has gone after Leonard before.

If Snow get the DC position. That would be the ultimate disappointment. And another Rhule failure. So wouldn’t surprise me
I will ragequit this team if its another internal hire.

I get the feeling this is the defensive equivalent of when Troy Dannen stepped in and told Rhule no more buddy hires, to go out and hire the big, proven name.

I would cream my pants for the Indiana DC.
I know that our resident rabbis don't like the idea of paying a DC a lot of money but who cares.
