NYC mayoral election isn’t a sign of that but all of the other elections certainly areTrump will be single most reviled figure in America politics when it’s all said and done. Disgust with what he is doing to America will drive dem turnout in 26 unlike any that’s ever been scene before. Mark the tape.
Agreed, the bar was set pretty high and the dems still overperformed nationally. Pubs will have a choice in this next year. Return to the rule of law and leave off this dalliance with Trumpism or be voted out. He will maintain his cultish base that has been programmed by Fox Entertainment, but the will only be the majority in a limited number of states/districts.NYC mayoral election isn’t a sign of that but all of the other elections certainly are

Don't read too much into it. All the other races were in solidly Democratic states and it truely would have been an upset if a Republican won. Would have gotten a better read if some purple states had governor or mayor elections.NYC mayoral election isn’t a sign of that but all of the other elections certainly are
Sherill in NJ stomped Ciattarelli. The polls had been relatively close and she won by single digits. Flipped a ton of counties back to the Dems or ran up huge margins. She got more votes than Harris (in an off cycle election) in at least one county (it is 82% Hispanic).Agreed, the bar was set pretty high and the dems still overperformed nationally. Here's betting it doesn't take that long.By the historical lens once we’re all dead and gone.
Obviously you have some older retirees from the city moving down south (Del Boca Vista anybody?) but a ton of the NY out movement is rural upstatersNow just more NYers are going to move to FL, NC, DC, TX and TN
Recent favorability polls have him almost matching the lowest levels of his first term (post Jan 6) and I don’t see it going up any time soon. We could hit “George Bush 2008” numbersHere's betting it doesn't take that long.
This is the biggest thing the Republicans are missing. Everything is unaffordable for a ton of Americans. You get a vibrant, fast talking candidate that is focused on that, and they're going to win. The GOP needs messaging help in a big way.Zohran actually did pretty well with some of the Trump-curious/Trump voting (not supporting but voting) minority communities in the outer boroughs. He was laser focused on affordability. The entire campaign was about that. All about those “kitchen table issues”
Also, it’s about the other candidates. Sliwa is never getting elected. People also despise Cuomo. He hated the city when he was governor, there is a ton of bad blood there, people remember it, and he still clearly doesn’t care for the senate. Not to even mention his sexual harassment scandals that led him to resign as governor
The low IQ simps keep this corrupt 2 party system in power. They literally ignore 100+ years of both sides putting banks and corporations above the people.I’ve been very anti parties for 20+ years. Why? Fundamentally they are hate groups. They intentionally exclude half the population at the core and have been eroding support for decades. It’s been proven they cannot sustain control because they only serve a portion of their constituents while constantly alienating those who don’t support them.
It’s like marriage. You have a set of 10 promises made at the offset. And for those that end in divorce (50%) and over time there’s fulfillment of maybe 2 things, 3-4 things sort of, and a complete abandonment of 3-4 other things. Then, when you raise objection, you’re castigated as a hater, a RINO, an antisemite, a racist, a loser. As opposed to someone pointing out the lack of fulfillment of promises that were raised. People are sad when couples get divorced. Yet many times people realize it’s for the best, bound to happen from toxic relationships.
Politics are a cancer in this country because zealots are unwilling to see things as they are. And the hate groups (aka political parties) along with their propagandists in media tell everyone how wrong they are.
What happens?
Voters are a combination of desperate and/or experimental. Anyone standing up and saying the Dems or Pubs are the greatest thing are not part of the problem. They are the problem. You must execute. Our beloved Dabo has a very low approval rating right now. In 2019, I’m sure it was 95%. Now, it’s 25% or whatever. Why? He simply hasn’t been in touch with reality.
So people turn to Trump. Mamdani. It’s a cry for help. Trump has a series of wins, indifference and losses right now. And he will lose the midterms if the country doesn’t get disclosure on the abuse of young women and the cost of living, it’s that simple.
Last night was a subtle reminder. It’s mathematically an impossible standard to live in NYC right now. And you’re surprised the people didn’t vote for a man who left the NY governor job in disgrace? And was supported by those they can’t stand. Trump supporting Cuomo is Liz Cheney level supporting Kamala, dumb.
Will NYC get better or worse, IDK. But blaming people for divorcing a politic model that’s been anti democratic, anti service, anti affordable is a direct reminder that the 2 mafias that run this country has been abusive to the public it says it serves.
Such a myth. Now just more NYers are going to move to FL, NC, DC, TX and TN
I'll be shocked if we don't blow right past those in the next 6 months.Recent favorability polls have him almost matching the lowest levels of his first term (post Jan 6) and I don’t see it going up any time soon. We could hit “George Bush 2008” numbers
What a cesspool.

Someone on here who shall go unnamed once said that Greenville basically has the same stuff to over as NYC but for half the priceNYC?? Nah.
It’s one of the great cities of the world. Maybe the great city of the world. Center of banking, finance, journalism, media, the arts, entertainment.

Yeah I saw in Greenville city council, for example, a majorly overqualified candidate lost and it had to simply be a Republican/Democrat deal.NYC mayoral election isn’t a sign of that but all of the other elections certainly are
Spot on Willy. An irony is Clinton ran on identity (I'll be the first woman president, girlboss) while Harris tried to run on boring kitchen table issues (just like Biden in 2020, but due to Biden she wasn't great at it). But yeah, affordability is one of the biggest issues facing many voters. It is why Trump improved with young men, latinos, and some Black voters (he mainly did pre-Obama GOP numbers with that last group). It is also why that coalition went for the Dems yesterday and most likely will in 2026.You got it.
I think the irony here is that a lot of the people who prefer far left candidates also supported Trump over Clinton/Harris. Working class voters. They don’t care if it’s far left or right…they just feel ignored.
Have you checked the inflation rate or grocery prices recentlyTrump is keeping his campaign promises and is off to one of the best starts in history related to achievements. Promises kept and no amount of lib spin will change the facts.
"This girl"Yeah I saw in Greenville city council, for example, a majorly overqualified candidate lost to this girl and it had to simply be a Republican/Democrat deal.
No other explanation how he should’ve lost.
Sorry, seriously didn't mean it like that. edited."This girl"![]()
Trump won in 2024 because of the economy (my hot take is that people are just nostalgic about the Obama economy). The GOP hasn't followed up on that at all and seemingly have no plans for it.This is the biggest thing the Republicans are missing. Everything is unaffordable for a ton of Americans. You get a vibrant, fast talking candidate that is focused on that, and they're going to win. The GOP needs messaging help in a big way.
All good, man. Hopefully all this momentum carries over to next year.Sorry, seriously didn't mean it like that. edited.
That all started under Biden when inflation hit 9%. Inflation makes things unaffordable. People make the same amount of money and then everything costs more. Trump has inflation down to around 3% which is still not good enough in my book. But make no mistake, inflation was the #1 reason democrats lost the last election. This is the biggest thing the Republicans are missing. Everything is unaffordable for a ton of Americans. Grocery price inflation is much lower under the Trump admin than the Biden admin.Have you checked the inflation rate or grocery prices recently
Inflation was also at 3% when he entered office so not the flex you think it is. Yes, 9% is bad but that was three years ago and most of us understand how it happened. That all started under Biden when inflation hit 9%. Inflation makes things unaffordable.
