Kylo Ren is the emo kid that jams Fall Out Boy and eats in his room when family is over.

Seriously, he started out awesome, but would have liked to see more of that at the end. I understand why not given the circumstances, though. Really thought this set up the next 2 movies well. Will likely see it 2 more times.

absolutely fantastic start to the final episodes! Star Wars fans will LOVE this movie. Definitely seeing again. Did the 3D and definitely worth giving that a shot. Probably do IMAX next

Great start - it felt like the return of actual Star Wars. Casting was superb.

A lot of questions brought up in this one, hard to take everything in...will need to see a couple more times.

So I knew that they were ignoring the Canon of all the books post Jedi, although the Grand Admiral Thrawn Series from Timothy Zahn was fantastic.

Were Rey and Ren split up as Children? The way that Organa and Rey interacted I thought gave away that she was her daughter, but why would she not be trained also? That's the main question I have moving forward, is she younger than Ren and thus was hidden after he went evil?

Awesome movie. Just got back from the 1:50 am movie in IMAX 3D and it was sold out. Definitely recommend seeing it on the IMAX screen. I don't normally do that much since it cost like $18+, but it was worth it. At times it felt like a somewhat reboot of Star Wars 4, but still was great. Now I am anxious for episode 8.

I didn't think it was as much of an Episode 4 retread as some are making it out to be. There's parts that rhyme, which I think match Lucas' original intention (the prequels have plot points that mirror the OT as well), but I think it stands well on its own. I know you liked the film, but I've seen some say they didn't like it because of this.

Luckily we only have to wait 18 months instead of 3 years for VIII and we even get another Star Wars film in between.

Did anybody catch Warwick Davis?

I know Daniel Craig was the stormtrooper Rey used the Jedi mind trick on and Simon Pegg was the alien she bartered with on Jaku, but I haven't seen anything on Davis' cameo.

I really don't think they are brother and sister. I think she's the daughter of Luke and a Mara Jade type character and the hug at the end was a realization that rey was her niece. With the first order, I could see why Luke would of wanted her a secret but I'm sure Han would of known he had a daughter on Jakku since she said her family left her there.

Something else itching at me is that I still think thats Darth Plagueis but at first I thought he really was 50 ft tall LOL... I honestly kind of wish he wasn't a projection.

Finn was great IMHO but it took a few minutes to get used to more earth like personality in Star Wars. My favorite character..... Poe or Ren / (did Han call him Ben?)

I know some don't like the new death star planet but lets be honest, it fits in the real world to have more and more. We wouldnt give up building Nukes if a few got destroyed.

I don't think Rey is Leia's daughter. She seemed to at least have an idea of who she was waiting for to come back on Jaku.

It could be Luke, although she thought he was a myth. The final scene takes on a new meaning if it's Luke recognizing his daughter. That leaves the whole question of who the mother is (a pretty big deal to just gloss over). One interesting fan theory I saw was it could be Felicity Jones' character as her character would be about the same age as Luke and it would tie the series in with the anthology films. It could be this character that she's waiting for.

When the third Death Star blows up, will it be because of an exhaust vent?

I am of the opinion that they are essentially making the same movie as the original trilogy, just with updated characters. Cant mess it up.

Vader = Ren
Luke/Leia= Boyega and Ridley (adding in the storm trooper addition, which we see Luke in IV)
Luke=Yoda/Ben Kenobi

Same plot lines will happen. Not really going out a limb here either.

I got the impression that Rey is Luke's kid. When being interrogated by Ren he seemed to pull the island location from her memory, not a map. Then we see Luke on such an island. It could be that they both were there as children but then Ren should recognize the island.

But who did Luke bang?

Overall a good movie, but not great. The death star rehash was horrible. Not an original thought went into that thing. And it sucks up the sun's energy?! WTF? That's the worst bad-guy-plan of all bad-guy-plans ever.

Be careful on the internet for those who haven't seen it.. The big spoiler meme is trending more than "Dez should have caught it".

B/R had a facebook link about Lebron accidentally obliterating Jason Day's wife, and someone posted the meme. Not gonna lie, the hilarity and meltdown that ensues was epic.

Still, I'd avoid social media until you see this movie.

The big spoiler that is trending is the very reason I went to a packed house last night. I knew that stuff like that would be everywhere and I would be one pissed off person if I found that out before I had a chance to see the movie. For those of you that have not seen the movie get off the internet and wear head phones till you see it.

So going bigger and badder than the death star doesnt seem like a natural progression for the remnants of the empire? I'm not quite sure what would of made you happy there. I mean at least they went with normal logic. They wouldnt abandon plans on creating an ultimate weapon that worked. Its going to be rehashed from some sci fi movie no matter how it was powered, dark matter, anti matter.... and if they said it was powered by the force..... well that would open up a can of worms you can't close again.

I'm so Star Wars dumb I can read these spoilers and not even be spoiled. I'm just like "huhhh whaaaahhhh".

All I know is in throwing popcorn and drinks at the screen while I boo loudly as soon as I figure out jar jar has no part in this.

After the prequel disappointments, it was damn good to see a ' STAR WARS' movie! The couple of qualms I have as a fanboy of the original are far outweighed by the general sense of joy I got at seeing Han, Leia, Chewie, Luke, the droids on screen again. Highly recommended for those who haven't seen it and go see it ASAP.

I'm about to go check a regular 2D showing. I want to pay extra attention to the scene where

Rey has the visions when first finding the saber.

I was too in awe at that point to take everything in.

That happened so quickly, I can't wait until some still shots of it get posted.

57 Million from just 7pm through the morning? I can't wait to track it through each day to see just how close to 200 million this movie can get for an opening weekend.

This was a mashup of episodes 3 and 4. Ren will become a human cyborg after what Rey did to him. "Rey I am your cousin. What? Yep no doubt Rey is Luke's child. She brings r2 back to life after cp3o tells Finn that he will only come back when Luke returns and during the lightsabre battle with Ren the light saber goes to her instead of ten. I think this episode was weak. Holes everywhere. Rey didn't require any training she just knew what to do including knowing more about the millenium falcon than Han...and she had never been on the ship! They address way too much in one movie imo. Would have been cool to see Ren during his training with Luke and the break away. BTW leia and Han son is Ben

The sequence, the best I can remember...

You hear Vader breathing and she is in the corridor on Cloud City.

The shot of Luke and R2 from the trailer (Luke giving R2 the map?)

Kylo Ren killing what I assume are the other Jedi Luke was training along with the Knights of Ren.

Young Rey being held by someone as she screams "Don't go". A voice that sounds like Kylo Ren, but I'm not 100% sure says something along the lines of "stay here little girl" as a ship flies away.

Finally, a voice that sounds just like Alec Guinness calls out "Rey"

That may not be 100% right, but I tried to remember everything I could.
