It's been confirmed that Snoke is a Muun and that he is strong with the dark side. I mean its possible he cloned himself or was able to keep himself in the land of the living by putting his force inside a yet to be born Muun baby.
By the way, Abrams will lie a billion times in his career to keep the secrecy of his films. Its the smart thing to do.

to say all the prequels sucked is too harsh. the originals had their own mistakes also. I mean if you can let incest slide...... I think you can cut the prequels some slack too.

Abrams was asked this at SDCC and he said Plagueis is not in the film. It's possible he was lying like with Kahn though. My hunch is that Snoke is a new character.
After a ton of viewings over 30 years, I'd rather watch Episode III instead of Episode IV. I'll take Empire and ROTJ over anything but outside of Episode I, I found enjoyment in all of the films. They're fun popcorn flicks.

if in fact Snoke is Plagius(sp), then it would make sense. would be a safe route for JJ to go. and would connect the trilogies. Plaguies was not killed by Sidious but recognized Sidious had grown too powerful. he allowed him to think he was dead. Plaguies created Anakin through the force, was never mentioned whose Anakin's father was. he was just born of the force. thus using Anakin the chosen one to bring down Sidious and the whole jedi order in the process, minus Luke. giving the vacuum of power for Plaguies to return and having a descendant of his spawn Anakin , Kylo Ren to bring on as his apprentice to rule once again. with only one little tidbit to finish his conquest... and that is finish off Luke, the last jedi. the Force Awakens begins.

Was it the episode 1 book that it explained Plagueis and Palpatine used the force to help create Anakin? Or was it just the Darth Plagueis book?
not sure on that one. just know of the story from star wars fan forums. i don't remember where the actual story came from.

I think its hinted at in the episode 1 book but im not quite sure about this one.
Episode 4 has more iconic moments, lines and likable characters than all the prequels put together.
Gonna be sweet watching it at the new Xscape theater here in Louisville. Nice reclining seats and a cold beer

When is the last time a studio didnt have press screenings for a movie and it wasn't a bad sign?
By the way, there is a cool youtube channel Collider Video that the guys also do a Star wars weekly show called Jedi Council. They usually go to press screenings but since they didnt do them for this movie they get to go to the premiere on monday so following those huge fans of star wars on Monday would give us a clue whether we'll love the movie or not.

I didn't say this was a press screening - I said it was a reputable guy who regularly attends press screenings that got a chance to see the film. The film IS being shown to people - that has been confirmed. However, they're all under embargo to not release any spoilers.
The Jurassic World embargo wasn't until the day before the film opened. I didn't think the film was that good, but it reviewed fairly well and obviously crushed at the box office.
I'll be waiting for that one reviewer to say "I know I shouldn't blast this movie but ...." I'll be shocked if Rotten Tomato's score is over 75%. Some reviewers will blast it just to bast it."

Anywhere from 87-93%. Movies like this aren't reviewed the same as say Tangerine or Anomalisa.
lol, that's awesome. What a bunch of idiots. They were so hyped it didn't matter what movie was released they were going to like it.
There is a phantom menace edit online that has subtitles for jar jar and some of the racist Chinese alien trade federation guys and replaced their voices with sounds you'd think a. Alien language might sound like.

That was the last IMAX movie I saw too but I left that damn theater in a daze. Felt like I went to another dimension. My damn heart was racing like a MFer throughout that movie. Saw the movie again on my tv after ordering it and it might as well been another movie altogether. That IMAX is legit.
Watching the prequels again and I have to say, damn they were the Twilight movies before the Twilight movies. Lucas had others help him write the original trilogy and they were geared towards adults but the prequels were basically written for his daughters.
The Force Awakens may not be perfect but just by the fact it had several writers write and re write the script means it will be better than the prequels.

not just writers, but Lawrence Kasdan, who helped write Empire strikes back and Jedi as well as some of the Indiana Jones saga is the main writer here for The Force Awakens. he did not write on any of the prequels. so yeah.
What people need to read is Lucas' original script and ideas for the first Star Wars. If the studios didn't get involved , it would just have been another Flash Gordon type movie.
