The Iowa Hawkeyes and Strange Polling

While 7-2 Iowa garnered votes in this week's AP and Coaches Polls, the Hawkeyes did not make it into the Top 25 in either.
However, they are #22 in the College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings.

Go figure.

At this point the cfb playoff rankings are all that matter. Here's the chance to knock off a ranked team.

I think it makes sense. There are 4 3-loss teams in the CFP 25. Maybe CFP is figuring add them now and if they win out it will make sense.

Of course, we have the opposite thing here as Rutgers fans. I would guess we believe Iowa is eminently beatable.. by us.. and unranked team in all polls. So that Iowa is unranked outside the CFP makes sense to us.

So.. overall.. I think the situation makes sense.
