In this weeks edition, Jared is roasting the receivers. He said he over heard Badet saying he wasn't gonna catch balls over the middle. Must listen.
Jared is just mad his precious Patrick is leaving. On the radio today he was giving the most "coach speak" ever on the problems with the team and coaching staff. Matt was even calling him out on it. He has to realize this isn't your grandads fan base anymore. People aren't going to sit around and buy tickets if no changes are made in the offseason.
obviously the position coach responsible for their individual instruction as well as the snap rotation for them is a big big issue for Stoops to address this offseasonSounds to me like the WR's are a huge problem area id what Jared is saying is true. My question then is why did these same guys play so much?

Garrett Johnson gave everything he had on every play and played hurt most of the season.. He also made MANY highlight catches, on passes that were underthrown, overthrown, thrown behind him, thrown in the dirt, well, you get the picture . I truly believe this team quit on the coaches because of the qb issue. That was the only reason the qb change was made imo.
I don't think you can include Garrett Johnson as not giving his all .It is really mind boggling the lack of play making we had this year...on both sides of the ball really...but specifically offense...
not one WR stepped up...
I'm not sure what it is...the whole lot of them under performed...
the worst teams in the country have 1 guy that can get some kind of production and make a play or two here and there...
an uncanny amount of dropped passes this year and lack of effort plays where maybe the ball didn't quite hit them square in their chest but they could have easily made something happen with some desire and will...didn't have a lot of YAC play making either...
I didn't listen to it. Was Timmons mentioned? I thought of him as a good team player, even if he hasn't met expectations.Badet, Timmons and Baker can grow up or hit the road.
It's the second year in a row that this particular class (2014) declined in the second half a season. Last year, in the second half, Blue and Robinson were really carrying the load, when the freshmen were making an impact earlier. I don't know if these just hit the wall for two years in a row or what, but there was a decline in both years. No doubt that it also has to do with better competition in the second half, and increasingly worser play at QB.They mentioned Timmons, but the main ire was reserved for Baker and Badet.
Oddly enough, I still think we have a talented WR core. They just vastly under performed this year. Esp the second half of the year.
(and yes, the QB play sucked and the OTs were awful - it all goes together)
I don't think you can include Garrett Johnson as not giving his all .
oh c'mon, he isnt pretending to be nor should anyone try and treat JLoad like he is some great impartial member of the journalistic profession. He's a former player, fanboy, giving hot takes on the team. Every team in the country has them around doing the same things, most of the time they see no evil/hear no evil/speak no evil unless things are going bad, and then they take a flamethrower to coaches or players.Secondly, this sounds far too personal for my tastes. Lorenzen needs to shut up and act semi-professional if he intends to play the role of a media member.
First, Towles honks like Lorenzen wanted others to believe that the WRs were intentionally underperforming in order to make Towles look bad. However, the UofL game made it pretty clear that the WRs just aren't that great no matter who is throwing them the ball and that they were NOT intentionally hurting the team in order to set up their boy Barker.
Secondly, this sounds far too personal for my tastes. Lorenzen needs to shut up and act semi-professional if he intends to play the role of a media member.
Lastly, it is pretty ridiculous for Lorenzen to rant like this about some guys on the roster at UK and especially when you consider how much he was the target of fans AND STAFF doubting his commitment to becoming a good football player at UK because he refused to be in shape.
I don't like being critical of Jared because I really liked watching him play and I like him, but he needs to tone it down.
I'll take Jared over Badet - Pro with actual knowledge over someone who doesn't give 100%-Jared is an idiot.
[golf clap]
I really enjoyed the podcast all year, despite its monumental need of an editor, and very glad they did it. That said, as the season went south it became increasingly driven by obvious relationships members of the panel had with certain certain players and certain members of the staff. Which basically made it a bash-fest of certain kids on the team, to the point it was downright unprofessional (and not even really accurate) at times.
Why exactly? Because it makes you feel better to have someone(s) on the team to demonize after that disaster of a season?Journalistic integrity be damned, it felt good to hear Jared say what he said.
