The best bet would be give West Coast to the liberals and let them have it. Build a wall. California has a large economy. Let the folks out who want out and let them live in their liberal Utopia.....Think "CHAZ" on a larger scale. See how it works out for them.

You really want to get rid of the worlds 5th largest economy? I guess you don't realize how that "liberal utopia" benefits you. Smh

You really spend all day on a high school football message board when football season hasn't even started? You really spend all day stalking one thread to post instantly when someone comments? I'll leave it at that. And yes, you are one of the main reason there is little to no traffic on this board. You should feel proud that you took what was fun to many and made it just another political volleyball. Good job. That's the end of my engagement with you. Clowns like you only want to argue your side and are not open to different opinions. Enjoy what I am guessing is a very miserable, unhappy existence.

Because you opinion has no substance. Just an uneducated swat. Think about how dumb it sounds to say "let's build a wall around the west coast." Literally think about that for a minute. That's literally what you bring to the conversation.

And btw, I am extremely happy, as I take a break from work, while I enjoy a nice sea breeze and sour beer.

Interesting article but I think there are some flaws in her arguement.

"Never before had public officials required millions of lawful businesses to shut their doors, throwing tens of millions of people out of work."

Several areas shut down during the 1918 flu pandemic. People quarantined. Heck people where quarantined during polio outbreaks. Look at the deaths that happened after things reopened from the 1918 pandemic. People act like this is a first in American history.

Look at the sacrifices Americans have made throughout history. We can't even be bothered to make a simple one now, because we are incredibly selfish.

I don't disagree that many politicians have handled this poorly. I'm to the point that businesses should be open if they choose as long as people follow restrictions and the number of people in confined spaces is limited.

That article was sent to me by a high school buddy of mine that is in the emergency medical profession in a local large hospital. I asked him his professional opinion from being on the front lines in this pandemic, he sent me the link and said "I am very much in accord with this".

2 quotes that say all we need to know. The last one should cause us to question things. They totally changed their tone after being pressured to do so.

"But the new guidelines posted Thursday do recommend that local officials should consider closing schools, or keeping them closed, if there is substantial, uncontrolled transmission of the virus."

"The CDC has been promising new guidelines for more than a week, after demands from President Donald Trump that the agency alter its recommendations for opening schools."

I don't dispute that our kids need to be in school and are better off. I dispute the fact that federal and state leaders aren't going to do their part to do so safely.

I guess that raises the question....how many schools have to participate to make a fall season viable? Half, a third, all? Suppose Davidson County with six teams says yes and the two Rowan County schools, plus the two city schools say no. Does our conference play?
Apply the same question to your area. If not all schools, are there playoffs? It’s a valid point to say that different areas are affected differently. So, do we do the “geographic pod” thing that some college conferences are considering? Will the NCHSAA take an all or nothing approach?
For once, I think the NCHSAA has an almost impossible job.
Just saw that 38 of 115 systems so far have announced remote only to start the year. And Lexington has cancelled one of the largest street festivals (100,000+) that is usually held in October.

It has to be all or nothing imo. If not you possibly create a transfer issue that schools don't want or need right now.

Mount Airy City is going with plan B while Surry remains virtual. So schools are allowed to play sports if there is in person learning. So now you have 75 kids from Central, East and North trying to transfer to Mount Airy to play football.

With the restrictions in place schools don't need that.

Watch and see which school systems are run by which party.......very telling.
I don't think Haywood County is run by any party and they just decoded to not open school for four weeks .I do agree that the Republicans don't give a damn about the kids after they are born .While the Democrats believe in safe schools before kids go back.
As for things getting better after Nov.hope your right but most think it will get worse during the winter months and it probably will.
Gov Cooper ,he's doing a better job than any of the GOP governors in the South.
Last but not least if you had listened to the experts like most other countries did we would probably be playing football this year.

This is inaccurate. While there is a large number of kids trying to transfer, there are 0 from East Surry & Surry Central that are transferring to play football. I don’t even know if NS has 1, but I know ES & SC have 0 transferring that play football. Almost all of the transfers are at the elementary levels, and I know that for a fact.

I said if only schools that are on plan B can play sports

One of the most egregiously ignorant, misguided, and uneducated statements I've ever seen on here. Yet once again, from you. Surprise surprise! Lol. Everybody please do not judge the entire Pisgah community based off of anything this guy says! I'm starting to think Asheville might suite you better Pisgah Bear.

Oh and if you couldn't tell, I'm a Republican. How freakin' dare you insinuate that I don't care about my kid, my friends kids or other kids. I hope that you're the obnoxious tailgater at the Pisgah games that I think you are...

Enough with the calling out political parties by name or by a political person name. Use the words political or politics, please. This thread is about schools returning to football and when. Words political or politics only. Sportsnut has made several warnings about this !
