Reynolds long winning streak is finally over thanks to resilient Asheville. The cougars are in the drivers seat now but must be wary of a letdown.

Asheville @ Roberson- This has trap game written all over it for Asheville. It will be interesting to see how the cougars play this Friday after their big win. Rain looks to possibly be a factor as well. I think this could be one of those quirky games but Asheville has too much talent to lose this one.

Asheville 21
Roberson 13

Enka @ McDowell- The titans are playing well and should be big favorites again this week before heading into a crucial three game stretch of @Asheville, Erwin, and @ Reynolds.

McDowell 41
Enka 14

Erwin @ Reynolds- How do the rockets respond after last weeks loss? They need to get their offense going, it has struggled most of the season. This is a good chance for the rockets to get on track heading into the playoffs. Erwin has been playing a little better but has been inconsistent on offense and defense.

Reynolds 34
Erwin 14

Power Rankings
1. Asheville
2. Reynolds
3. McDowell
4. Erwin
5. Roberson
6. Enka
7. North Buncombe

Reynolds will name their score against Erwin.
I don’t anticipate Asheville fooling around. Last year we had 6 or 7 lost fumbles against Roberson. I imagine that will be brought up this week. McDowell by whatever they want

Asheville 38 - 10
McDowell 47 - 13
Reynolds 34 - 6

Asheville will not let up, the conference is theirs and rightfully so, so they stay focused!

McDowell is the 3rd best team in the conference and they have made that clear. Enka won’t be a challenge.

Reynolds defense is very good so I don’t see Erwin being a threat, but our offense needs to show me more. I think this game they will.

side note…..if it’s raining during these games all bets are off! 😁

I think Reynolds defense is elite, but they definitely have Tolbert on a short leash in terms of opening up the playbook. They don’t take ANY shots. You think about the Reynolds Asheville game Friday, it was basically two teams playing in a mirror and a key difference was when Asheville went deep that drew a pass interference call on a key third down. There wasn’t any of that from Reynolds.

Yeah, I was talking with someone yesterday and I don’t think ACR threw a pass that traveled 10 yards in the air! We didn’t give Asheville a chance to make a coverage error, or get a penalty. I don’t think they trust the QB and that’s not good. Call the play and see what happens! Asheville is the first game we haven’t thrown deep and I think it cost us, we have playmakers but they didn’t get a shot.

About 7-8 years ago I watched independence play providence at providence and I kid you not, independence threw no less than 15 “bombs” down the field. They would line up 5 wide every play and it seemed like every other play they would try to isolate one of their favorable guys against a corner they wanted to go against. And it worked for them because your average high school DB is gonna bite on some double move or commit a penalty or something if they don’t give up the touchdown completely. We didn’t really open it up either Friday, but the one deep shot we took resulted in a 50/50 ball where the ref had to make a call. Sometimes you gotta just throw it up. Especially when you aren’t having much success in the other areas putting up the points.

This is so true! Make a high school kid play defense and make a high school ref make a call! I thought ACR and Asheville both played way too conservative. Both have QB’s that can sling it down field with ease, give them a chance!

McDowell has to improve their special teams if they want to really contend. They are going for 2 every time almost now with a kicker who struggles. Their punt and kickoff coverage hasn't been great also.

Punt and kickoff coverage is a necessity when playing ACR and Asheville. Our return teams are good, we’ve had 4 kick returns for TD’s and lots of long returns! I know Asheville has some kick returns also.

What's wrong with ACR? Erwin came to play apparently!! They had Guest on lock and putting pressure on Tolbert early on for sure! Dallas Phillips showed up to run as well!!

Enka 7. Final.

Now on to the meat of the schedule for the titans. We'll see if they can compete with Asheville or Reynolds.

ACR woke up second half
Yes sir they sure did. Shane made the necessary adjustments and it was off to the races. Danny and Sean and the boys blamed it on Erwin not being able to platoon like ACR but it sounds like Pruitt got out coached by a long shot the second half!!! Just my silly opinion 🤪

I'm more worried about McDowell being able to stop Asheville than being able to score but then again they are both concerning

I don’t know much about McDowell. But I’ll can tell you we have 5 guys on offense at the same time can take it to the house anytime

McDowell likes to mix up the pass and run. Our most explosive player is a freshman who has gotten more comfrtable with the varsity level as the season has progressed, and his brother is a jr and a tight end but probably our best reciever. . Our line has played well all year but will have to take it to another level. I expect McDowell to try and implement a power running game controlling the clock and mixing in the pass occasionally.
