Big week at the top this week with McDowell playing Asheville. Can the titans hang around?

TC Roberson @ Enka (Tuesday)- This should be a fairly competitive game but TC should come out on top.

North Buncombe @ Enka- This game will likely determine who finishes last. Enka is quite a bit better than hapless North Buncombe.

Roberson @ Erwin- This could be another competitive game but Erwin has too much speed in the passing game for Roberson unless they can build an early lead with the triple option.

Reynolds @ RS Central- This game is a late addition to the schedule for the rockets due to covid cancelations. They should find more offense against RS Central who struggles to stop anybody.

McDowell @ Asheville- Who would have thought this game would be for first place a few months ago? Both teams are playing their best football of the season right now but Asheville has a lot more athletes than McDowell. The Titans will look to employ a power running game and control the game clock. I think McDowell will hang around for a while but Asheville will break away some late with some long TD plays.

I’d be shocked to see RS-C score 21 or 20 points on our defense like it’s been predicted above.

31-0 final. 24-0 at half. Homecoming show length really got us out of groove… but another strong performance by the D. 0 points allowed.

Yea I kind of figured if we had our heads on straight this wasn’t gonna be a game. Defense playing well. I wish we could have played our first couple games as healthy as we are now but I like the momentum we have. Unfortunately we aren’t gonna have much competition between now and the playoffs

If we were in 3a I’d feel much better. You could honest to God see a team from Charlotte come to Asheville with 3,000 students in the first round

Okay TECHNICALLY I was right with this, our defense gave up 7 with 4 minutes left and on our subs. The other scores were given up by the offense, we gave up TWO fumble recoveries for TD’s, one of 45 yards and the other a 90 yard return, but over all it was a dominant performance against a weaker team.

The 3rd or 4th place team in Winston Salem’s conference wins our conference easily. East Forsyth, West Forsyth, Glenn, Mt. Tabor all are legit.

McDowell had almost as many yards as Asheville and drove within scoring position a few times but it looks like mistakes and turnovers killed any chance of keeping it competitive.
