Looking at their last 12 games (all losses), Minnesota was averaging 54 points in the first 8, and then 69 points in their last 4. So it seems something has changed offensively for them.

Still, the fact that they’ve lost them all, regardless of how much they score, tells me their opponent is setting the pace of the game. I think if we control the tempo and the boards, we’ll win.

RU wins 71-64.
I believe that’s around when they got their best player, Dawson Garcia, back from injury. He averages over 15ppg.

Very few predicting a laugher result on the road.
Pretty much everyone giving us a win but not much cushion.
Another gut wrencher tonight

This is such a weird fan base, it seems like most would be disappointed if we're up by 20 at halftime or if not disappointed, certain we'll blow the lead.

I wonder how many Big 10 teams we have faced have allowed that opening tap dunk play we run for Cliff. To allow that play it’s like you didn’t even scout us. Minnesota allowed it last game (going from memory). Their defense was horrendous. Even if we shoot sub-par we win.
RU 70-54.
Thought the same thing in real time

Only other game I remember us being able to get that this year was Columbia.

I respect Dawson Garcia as a player and he's a player that we really have not seen at any point this season. He's 6'10 and can flare out to the 3 point line, he's a solid mid range driving big man and Battle as his complimentary piece, is going to take 15 to 18 shots.

This is really about the letdown scenario that is in play for every team....have a huge win, where you expend a lot of energy and excitement, and you're ripe for a letdown.

Letdown performances are usually prevented by your bench players, giving the team energy. So I think this becomes a Dean Reiber, Oskar Palmquist, Derek Simpson type of game off the bench. If the bench gives RU 20+ points, things will be fine.

But I don't see Garcia and Battle rolling over. They're probably good for a combined 40+ points. Just have to contain the other 3 complimentary players.

Closer than we want is my guess.....68-63 RU

Bounce back game for Paul. Think Pike talked to him about his body language and what he expects from one of his leaders.

I think game will be ugly and close. Minnesota albeit not talented will have motivation against us given the slaughter they endured earlier in the year.
Go RU! Someone will drive us to victory !

One point squeaker in Minnesota's favor. MN 63 and RU 62.
Not sure why not a single other person thought this scenario likely. Team didn't respect Minnesota once they thought they punched ticket in 2nd, goofing around on bench, and it showed. Always take your opponent seriously.
