Some of our fans. If you are bashing our new head coach on here or twitter or anywhere else anyone can publically see it you are doing nothing but hurting our school. Josh Gray is already tweeting about our fans. I sure as hell wouldnt want to play for you negative ******** for 4 yrs. What a 17'ing joke some of you are. You haven't even given this guy a chance to make a public statement before going off the deep end. Let the guy coach before you write him off. I'm am truly beyond myself at how ****** some of our fans are acting. Y'all are killing us and that's all there is to it. Go take that crap somewhere else.

Chill out people. Take some criticism, because it will come. The thing to remember is it's been done, and nobody can accurately predict how this guy is going to do. Most people commenting have read probably 5 blurbs about him at best.<div>
</div><div>Not every good coach is "well-known", and especially not by people that don't just really keep up with basketball and the whole coaching network. I certainly don't feel qualified enough to make a judgment of him.</div><div>
</div><div>Helps nothing to piss and moan about it, and it sure isn't attractive to any recruit looking towards our fan base for reactions. At least act supportive, which is what you should be anyway.</div>

Exactly. The decision has already been made. Coach Ray is the basketball coach at MSU next year. No matter how bad some of y'all want to make your point known, that's not going to change. Making negative comments is only going to set him back that much more so do our program a favor and stop. It's not that hard.

on twitter. As sheepish as it sounds, players in high school and college read twitter and message boards, and when our fanbase shows that they don't support a decision like this, what makes you think our recruits will like the hire and want to stay on board?

I know that it is a Genespage/Spirit approach, but the fan base has to at least Appear on board and in full agreement with a hire like this for the betterment of the program. If we get everyone in the fan base and all of the recruits thinking this guy sucks and Stricklin made a bad hire, that just puts Ray at an even bigger disadvantage. Trust me, I understand that this hire causes moments of anger and frustration......and I would be lying if I said I didn't go through some negative comments with buddies on the phone after I heard about it, but for goodness sakes let's try to have the bitchfests over the phone instead of on a public site where everybody can see it. Myself included.

This board, to its' credit, has become the biggest message board for MSU sports. And the biggest reason is the openness to any opinions, good or bad, and I think it's great. That's why I love it over here. But as fans, we've got to be a little smarter about picking our spots of when to ***** and when to just support the damn program. Today was a day we should have done better at the latter.

Today our fans have been 17ing pathetic. Ole Miss may be a damn joke, but when they acted like Freeze was a great hire and that he was their first choice, yada yada yada....that was the smartest thing they could have ever done as fans. If we would have come out in full support of Ray today, it would have made his job a lot easier starting out.

But maybe that's just me.
Now, I'm going to go grab some shears and shave this wool, but I had to take a moment and agree with bigdawg22

We have a large number of idiots complaining about DAN MULLEN!!! Our fans completely abandon ship if one thing, ANYTHING, bad happens. We have no idea how to face adversity.<div>
</div><div>South Carolina has their **** figured out. They know they'll never have what Florida has, but at least they have a unified fanbase that supports their teams no matter what.</div>

That's the sad thing. There are reporters, former players, and coaches saying this was a good hire because they are in the business and know more than we do. Apparently we do have some inbreed fans, b/c that's the way a lot of them are acting.
