Even this unknown Brandon Speck character calls it a "longshot" and he sounds like a homer. So, thanks for starting this thread I guess.
Prep sports writer for the Daily Journal. You might remember him from this thread last year after Ward committed.
Brandon Speck is an Ole Miss fan. I used to follow him to follow with recruiting updates. He writes for some small paper in North Mississippi and he is very pro Ole Miss.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the NCAA website states the dead period runs through Jan 3rd. If so it appears Yancy just self reported a violation for Freeze.

It is obvious that Chris Wilson suffered some demotion
by not calling the defense in the bowl game. He may be looking around now or preparing to getting fired. Mullen hinted as much in his press conference and because Mullen always blames the defense even when his offense stinks, he may have had enough. I think that Wilson is Chris Jones' recruiting coach. As I said, losing Smith and Wilson will hurt our recruiting. No doubt.

That's what AT LEAST 80% of this guy's posts have been... Not passing the sniff test if you ask me.
Like clock work their plan goes into action. Probably by tomorrow evening. The UM booster down there will come to Jones with a blank check and give him the "What will it take speech!?". Book it
Just for FYI purposes: this dead period is only for face to face visits; phone calls, texting, and I would guess face time is ok. As far as Jones goes, I think it's too late for anyone else, State is too dug in.
Assuming you are correct, I was thinking wrong then. I was thinking it was any and all communication between the school and the recruit and the only communication could be between school and HS coach.
This is why we need an early signing day in early December. January is terrible and kids shouldn't be put in this situation.
