Sometimes the ignore button is essential on this forum. I'd hate to see you give up since you have been making a lot of good points and have done well in trying to be objective and factual. Some posters are just going to be abusive if you try to post anything that is not total negativity and whining. You don't have to see their posts anymore if you choose.
I hate the idea of making a safe space for myself. I can handle extreme negativity. I have little tolerance for dishonesty. It irks me to my very soul when I’m trying to engage in good faith like that. Half the time I forget it’s a message board and talk to people like I’m in person. Bad idea lol
You were talking about quitting the board entirely. It is not creating a safe space to ignore those who are nonconstructive and disingenuous. I have ignored several of the worst but I still have no shortage of detractors. I can tolerate a lot of disagreement but there comes a point to recognize some are just not worth the time.
I was just expressing my anger. I like the board too much to leave it. Just venting. KSR+ costs too much.

I can make a suggestion for you if you need one to mute for good. The orange Anon that has a number ending in 1780. So extreme even I have them blocked. Lol. I appreciate you. We have different views on football/basketball dynamic but I always think you bring a voice of reason to the basketball situation, which is desperately needed right now.
Also, appreciate you putting in some admirable words for what Stoops has done on the Lair. I don’t post there because I know my football views aren’t welcome, but as an old football fan I got love for Stoops. You’re one of the few who always say something nice over there.

I do tend to be negative without doubt but to be fair it was mainly the last couple of seasons with Cal where it seemed like he had given up and this season where the team has frankly looked terrible. The Pitino years and early Cal years were amazing but I wasn't on message boards then.
Fair enough. We are ALL frustrated. I do believe we all want to win. Some just get "riled" a little quicker. I am probably too patient. But this early in the season, I have to be...otherwise I would need to give up watching sports.
Yeah I do overreact at times over games. My wife sure does lets me know about it when I am cussing the tv out.
If the truth be known...I do plenty of TV cussing. I just try to get over it before I log on. Sort of, take a deep breath, count to 10. Otherwise I would be a miserable person, I think.
In the moment, I get mad, but try to be positive otherwise. I think misery does love company, but too much can be cancerous.
The sky isn't falling, but with each loss to a future tournament team, the clouds get a little darker. If Lowe and JQ don't get healthy soon it's going to take an effort the guys who aren't them haven't shown they can or are willing to give.

If you’re a true UK fan, it‘s an upsetting start to the season. It just is. If you’re a casual fan like the OP is, then you just don’t care that much anyway.
Usually when things are not great you look for improvement to get a grasp that “the sky isn’t falling”. But we’re not seeing improvement, we’re seeing regression from the end of last year into this year.

I think the sky has fallen on this season. We just don’t have enough shooters to overcome the bigger boys on our schedule. We are going to be a middle of the pack SEC team. Will probably pull off a W or two that none of us saw coming but give those back on inexplicable losses. I think we finish 17-14 and miss the ncaa tournament.
unless our recruiting does a 180 between now and then we will be in year 2 of pope having missed the tournament with no reason for optimism for year 3. The UK admin will have a very tough time justifying staying course if this plays out. I hate it as I was really behind popes hiring. Thought he would kill it here but if he can’t land the studs he needs it’s not going to work at all.

Oweh for example went to the combine came back a completely different player. Jacking up 3s and not being aggressive like he use to be. Mo Dioubate trying to shoot 3s and prolonging his comeback. Lowe is playing the do I sit out the rest of the year and collect a check bs.
I thought Pope recruited players that love Kentucky. Moreno is the only one I see with a heart. We are in big trouble early and I’m sorry for worrying about us even making the tournament. Glad you can be positive in this situation but I’m a realest that just sees a team that won’t make the final four this year. Which is very worrisome in Popes 2nd year. You can see it in his face and hear it in his voice that he can’t do anything with these players. We can play the best d in the world but we won’t do **** if we don’t have shooters or anyone who can lead this team. Theres no excuse for going 0-4 aginst ranked teams. This is coming from someone who isnt jumping to fire Pope
UK fans were more than happy on Selection Sunday in 1995 (1 seed), 1997 with a 1 seed, 2022 when we had a 2 seed, 2005 when we had a 2 seed, 1998 when UK had the 2 seed, 1986 with a 1 seed, 1980 with a 1 seed, etc.
