The talking heads on espnu are really talking down the park

And it's lack of home runs now. It is like they are genuinely pissed it cost Indiana the game in their minds.

Been out of most parks? I believe there were a couple on at the time

Some of you are just wanting to hear people disparaging MSU. If the park played smaller, Porter would have hit a grand slam in his first at-bat.

Porter woulda had a grand slam...so it wouldn't really matter because who knows how it woulda played out differently. You can't look at baseball in a vaccuum because nothing would've happened the same if something different had happened before it.

But I do agree that I would prefer if the homerun was more of a part of the game there.

They said how there have been 6 home runs in 31 college games there this year. Has nothing to do with tonight's game And yes Porter would have had a grand slam in most parks.

This sounds like a reach.. The times they mentioned that (and they even said the same for some of ours) those would have been homeruns. I didn't get a single feeling of ill intent towards State.

I'm glad it has benefited MSU a couple of times, but the park is too big to go along with the dead bats and balls they use. If you square up a ball and crush it, you should be rewarded for it, and the way the bats and balls are now, you're not being rewarded for it in this gigantic park. The OSU guy mauled that ball in the 9th against us and it still fell short of the fence. Porter crushed a ball tonight that would've been a grand slam, but it was caught on the warning track. When you've played the CWS at TD Ameritrade for 4 years and not one single person has hit a homer to centerfield, it's a problem. I agree with Kyle Petersen, who said they need to use the minor league baseballs, which have lower seams and is wound tighter than the college baseball. It would increase distance without having to change the bats again.

I dont think it has anything to do with the outcome of this game. It's the state of college baseball as a whole. Other than for those in attendance, and fans invested in their own teams, it's boring as ****. Station to station baseball is terrible to watch. Do we want gorilla ball back? Hell no. But the simple fact that a long ball is not even a possibility just takes some of the strategy from the game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think DNF was 410 in the center in the 70s and

later reduced to 400 and then to its current configuration. Whether it was 400 or 410 there was no shortage of bombs being blasted by both teams playing. I miss that element of the college game and I especially miss the power hitters at State.
