The scoring box on the screen showed JB at -2 at least 5 minutes ago. We just now saw his birdie putt. They still ave some work to do.

Chambers Bay, so so for tour pros, but what regular golfer would want to play that thing. It needs some windmills and spinning clown faces, and make it a wild putt-putt course.

After Tiger skulled that 3-wood yesterday on 18, I actually felt sorry for him for the first time during this whole ordeal. The look on his face was not anger, or a wincing of pain as usual, but an acknowledgement that his game is in absolute shambles and he's clueless on what to do to fix it.

^ This. The yips not only affect one portion of your game, but they get inside your head. Tiger is thinking too much and has zero confidence. I have never been a Tiger fan, but I hate to see him fall this far, this fast. Remember, the putting yips drove Johnny Miller to early retirement.

I just want a mf to bank one off the train and land on the green. That will make my US Open tourney. I do not get why people are crying about the course. If I remember correctly a few years ago at the British, it was rainy, hard to see, and 40 mph winds all day. NOBODY shot par. Give me tricked out over 40 mph winds any day. And it is hard to tell fairway from greens there on some courses also, that's links.

Yeah, the people bitching about this course are apparently ignorant to Links golf.

Yes, I know that's not traditional US Open style, but neither was Pinehurst, an American Classic, last year w/ NO ROUGH.

Get over it.

I am NOT ignorant of Links golf, it has it's place, namely the British Open rotation. How many greens on #2 did you see players have to putt with their backs to the hole? Also if you think #2 is a links style course now, then I can;t help you. I guess you are thinking that NO ROUGH means links golf? Have you seen #2 in person? I think after Sunday you will start hearing how bad the players hate this course.

Yeah, and "those players" will be out of contention.

Funny how that works.

That was a little scary to watch with Jason Day. I hope he's ok. At least he got bogey and didn't get a 12 or something. If you didn't see it, he looked like he had a bit of vertigo. The sound was down so I didn't hear exactly.

I am calling my shot. Tiger fixin to go off the deep end, and catch a case of beating one of them holes that he will blame ruined his life. If I was ole Perkins girl, I would be hollering for anyone to throw some shade my way, just in case.

Oh, and who the hell said the US Open had to some kind of uniformed course ?? Yeah lets just have it one way and one way only. Different is what makes the US Open so great. Anyone can qualify, and it moves to random courses, you know like Ryder does. Hell, just kick the munis out of Bethpage and make it THE OFFICIAL US Open course. A lot of richardriders was out in full force when it was there. "Oh cool, they are playing a common mans course and it is so tuff." "I love the US Open at Bethpage." I was fine with it, but tough rough is not all that defines the US Open.

You are on a run of awful awful posts. I'm guessing thats not an anomalie.

Bogey on 18 by some guy dropped cut line to +5

- Didn't realize that until this morning. Thought Sergio was gonna have to live with that lip out on 18 and miss the cut. Oh well.

- Corey Pavin was asked if the players could feel the wind on the tee at one of the par 3s. His response was that they couldn't really because of the trees. o_O

Pretty universal among the players that 18 is terrible as a par 4. And like Spieth said, it's guaranteed dumbass Mike Davis will do it again today or tomorrow.

Gary Player just said on Morning Drive that this is "the most unpleasant golf tournament I have seen in my life." He went on a 5-minute tirade and called Chambers Bay a "tragedy."

Yeah, and "those players" will be out of contention.

Funny how that works.

Henrik Stenson, still in contention, said the greens were "like putting on broccoli."

So not just those who are watching on TV with us this weekend complaining.

20 players are even or better. The course (and greens) have been fair thus far. Different doesn't equal bad.

I think it would be fine for the best players in the world if the greens were consistent. They rebuilt a couple of them that were too punitive 2 years ago. They have zero poa in them and they putt true, regardless of uphill/downhill or time of day.. They said the only reason the course was built was to host the US Open. You'd think with 8 years to get ready they could keep the poa out.

Notah Begay said 100% of the players he talked to this week complained about the greens.

As for amateurs, I don't know why the average Joe would subject himself to the course, especially with no carts. The novelty of it I guess. Almost any hack can play St Andrews and come close to what he shoots at home.

I hope they return this golf course to it's natural habitat. This is such clown golf that I'm starting to think some people at the USGA might need to lose their jobs over it. I've watched many a British Open on links courses and none were a ridiculous as this. The course is bad enough but the greens are like putt putt courses.

Fox's coverage is getting on my nerves. Announcers are garbage, and have no clue how to generate excitement or drama. And if I didn't know better, I'd think there were only 3/4 people even on the course. Lowry is in 4th and I havent seen one shot of his and haven't heard them say one word about him.
