I think that is a hint that your issue or problem is of no concern to them. They have better things to do than talk to you and they don't want to waste their time.

Surprisingly, real estate agencies and agents seem really bad at this. See a property and call to ask the price. No one answers the phone.

1. Slowpoke drivers who lollygag UNTIL the light turns yellow, THEN speed up.
2. Dickhead drivers who pass on the exit/emergency lanes just to get 4 car lengths ahead of us peons waiting our turn. This is matched by the dickheads who let them BACK into the line.
3. People who always say "You got to be kidding me!" I live for the day when I can tell them "Yes, yes I AM kidding you!"

Any local commercial with a kid in it. We get it, you think your kid is cute/a big deal/destined for stardom. They are not. To this day I refuse to shop at Oak Factory, eat Purnell's or Mingua beef jerky because of this.

People who correct your broad estimations when telling a story by interjecting an exact number (which many times is incorrect).

Examples-

Me: I think he died sometime in the mid-80's, IIRC.

*******: IT WAS 1984. I REMEMBER THE DAY HE DIED I SWEAR I DO.


Me: I think I paid somewhere around $200 for it.

*******: IT'S $199 PLUS TAX. I SAW IT ADVERTISED IN THE NEWSPAPER YESTERDAY.


Me: I think her dad was Jimmy Thompson, and he had a farm in Woodford County.

*******: JAMES RICHARD THOMPSON, JR AND HIS FARM WAS ON MCCRACKEN PIKE.

I read that as "act hungry" the first time and laughed, then I reread it and realized it was "angry" and it just wasn't that funny.

Would you mind editing your post and changing it to "hungry"? Thanks.

Correct answer is cars that slow down and allow a truck to merge to the left. Happens every day. Have a steep double hill on a well traveled road. Trucks in left lane would make you think it's rush hour or a wreck ahead.

Homeless people who didn't put much thought into their pan handling signs. If you aren't gonna work and want people to give you money for drugs or alcohol, atleast put some effort into your feeble attempt to gain empathy from others . God bless, and homeless vet are overplayed. You have time come up with a better idea. I'm sure @Willy4UK could come up with an excellent pan handling sign or ask Bigblewsean he's somehow done well at it

I'll give a bum a fiver if he/she has a good hustle. Best one I ever heard was a vet using his VA health card to say he was a disabled vet trying to get bus fare to the VA hospital. Two things wrong with that. One, the VA hospital ain't open on weekends, only for emergencies. Two, I'm a disabled vet. His card was the generic one the VA hands out to NON-disabled vets. I gave him a sawbuck because he was a vet.
